What is the name of your band? Milkshakes
Name of the band-members?
Tim Diltz (Me) - Guitar/Vocals
Morgan Norris - Drums
Jason Moriarty - Guitar
Christian Benson - Bass/Kazoo
Where did you grow up? We all pretty much grew up in Glastonbury, Connecticut. I've also lived in Simsbury, Connecticut, Walnut Creek, California, and Manhasset, NY. I moved to Glastonbury in 3rd grade and have lived there up until I moved into college in January, I guess I still live there doe.
How old are you? I (Tim) am 18, Jason is 20, Morgan is 21, and Christian just turned 26.
Who started the band? Christian, Jason, and I started the band in October of 2011. Our friend McClain played with us for awhile before leaving. Morgan joined the band in early 2012 and we've had the same lineup ever since.
Where have you played 2012/2013? Besides the shows that we have played in Connecticut, we've played in Massachusetts and Boston a few times, New Jersey once, and Philadelphia a couple of times. We did a week long tour back in December and that's when we hit up New Jersey and Philly for the first time.
Where can people see you? We have a lot of shows coming up this summer and we are doing a tour out to the Midwest in August. We love playing for new people and falling out of routine every once in awhile, so if you haven't seen us come to a show!
Do you have a web-site?
What is the name of your best song? I can't speak for everyone in the band, but I personally think that Kalabar's Revenge and Distant are our best songs. I love all of our songs, but those are probably the best. We also have a new song called Cave In that we've been playing live, We all really like that one.
What kind of music are you into? Rock, some Rap. Pretty much anything but Country. The first few Alkaline Trio Albums. Osker. Lil' Flip. The Wombats. Botch. Bomb the Music Industry!. Two Humans. Ovlov. Accidental Racist by Brad Paisley and LL Cool J. Make Believe by Weezer, and Let Me Love You by Mario.
Have you been on tour this summer? We're doing a 9 day tour out to the Midwest at the end of August
Do you have a planed tour anytime soon? I guess the tour in August isn't that far away.
Who came up with the band name? Kelis
Who writes the songs? It varies, sometimes I'll write a song and then everyone will add their respective parts at practice. Sometimes Jason will write a song and we'll build on that. Sometimes Christian will come up with a riff or Morgan will come up with a cool drum part and we'll write a song around those ideas. It's really a group effort and it's not always the same person writing the songs. I write all of the lyrics, but when it comes to the actually music it's super collaborative, which I think makes for more interesting songs.
what song do you play the most? Since we only have 8 songs we don't have much of a choice when it comes to what we play.We usually don't play Bleed Out and Wagon, but we play everything else plus a new song. We prefer keeping our sets short, it's better to keep people wanting more (that is if they actually like us). We get off on being withholding.
Do you play the same songs each performance? For the most part
Have you realesed a album or single? We released a new EP entitled "Exactly Where I Need To Be" about a month ago. We also put out a split with a band called Wisdom Teeth that came out last year.
Are you working on any new songs? Yes, I've been away at school so we haven't had much time to get together, but we've written a couple of new songs in that time. We're all constantly writing and coming up with ideas on our own, I wouldn't be surprised if we have an album written by the end of summer break.
