interview with LENDHARIAN

What's the name of your band? That's called LENDHARIAN. We do not know exactly weather there's a meaning about that. This name sounds good for us and it seems like "legendary band" Which is pretty nostalgic. And we're talking about nostalgic times it remind us of past - and that's a great reference because our music follows the trend of not cling to a single trend but merges them and consequently extract musicality and address several issues.

How was the band formed? Well, The band started as a quartet nine years ago in 2005.Then pst two years it was reformulated. At times, we had played with two guitarists. However this time we are just four members.

Who does what in the band?

We usually work in separated function and times after we share the knowledge between us.

Here is the each one's function in the band.

Madson Lima: lead vocal / lyricist / keyboards / scores

Thiago Freitas: Guitars / producer / arrangement / photo editor

Thiago Amorim: Bass / contacts / calendar

André Freitas: Drums / Site editor / scores

Can you tell about your band? Of couse yet! We are a progressive metal band due to our common influences. There are several interessing points which proves that  - Odd times , change of pitch, dissonant melody and harmony, power riffs, modulation, polyrhythmic grooves, exotic scales and much more.

Where are all band members from? All of the band is Brazilian, but belong to different regions. The bassist (Thiago Amorim) and drummer (André Freitas) are born in Rio de Janeiro. (Madson Lima) I come from Ceará, northeastern state; Thiago Freitas came from Minas Gerais, the neighboring state of Rio de Janeiro.O Brazil has a vast culture, Especially partying and this can make us to export ideas.

Could you explain your music to someone que have not you heard? Yes, we do experimental music, trying to blend elements putting our identity.

Who writes your songs?/Who writes the music who writes lyrics?

All of the band compose. Sometimes together, sometimes apart. Usually the drummer and bassist are more focused on their roles. And they usually compose bass lines and drums together. I even take care of the voices, I create most of the time, the score or instrumental parts on the keyboard. Thiago Freitas brings the riffs pre assembled.

As for the issue of letters, usually I write already thinking about the theme which I think will sync with the mood of the song. It is a subjective idea and comes to be synaesthetic.

I have an ability to write zillions of letters but I have a hard time termimar, then, summon the band members to express their views. I try and vary the subjects as well, seem more unpredictable and that is what holds the attention in a way, just say.

Who has the best since of mood in the band? Depends on the moment. The history of the band, Freitas, the guitarist is at once the most outgoing and cantankerous the band (his wife must be laughing at this!). But each has its good and bad phase. Outside or inside the band.

What's good / bad with the band? / What genre do you feel you are?

Our style follows the trend of most of our influence in common: Dream Theater, Symphony X, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Angra, Evergrey Metallica. We are listeners 1990s.

Our influences are at the Hard Rock in classic rock, new metal until the punk rock. But we particularly individual influences fleeing the heavy metal rock. Actually,There are influences from pop, jazz, mpb, instrumental music, world music, classic film soundtracks and experimental music and games. In short: everything we hear on entering our subconscious, is a potential influence. We believe that. Although recently we have made compositions more random ways, through codes converted into musicais. But these notes are still to come.

Have you been in any other bands?

Each project has its part except Madson, vocalist, who is the founder. Sometimes it makes any sharessinging cover of Iron Maiden.

Thiago Amorim has played in a pop band called Red Stone along with Madson’s brother, Robson Lima, who was part of the band in the first training, today he’s drummer altergeist band. Amorim also been a freelancer in a band of regional style.

André Freitas has always been in the metal underground Rio de Janeiro, playing in bands such as Onix, design and now Metal Jam Still Alive.

Thiago Freitas conceived and played a solo work called "Tri" and then "Parallel Project". Also made guest appearances on other bands. He studies music production and shares this knowledge with rock bands in training.

What would you do if there was no music? If there were no music, would not know what it means. Probably would leave for another artistic activity. We simply can not live without it because we have become dependent on this!

How important are your fans? The fans are the gasoline that move us.

Where do you rehearse? The tests usually take place in studios near our residence in a neighboring district. But the trend is rehearsing in home studio that adapted the house of Guitar Player. And there that we also do much of the audio recordings.

Name two of your own songs you like at the moment?

We Join all the songs, And each has its favorite one.

Difficult to decide 2. But these two have a particularly overweight: Social Disorder (which coincided with the wave of protests that occurred this year, is a song of social protest.

Forbidden Thoughts involves a psychoanalyst knowledge because you do need to face life's obstacles and consequently generate self-motivation. Often repressed ideas is that you will find the way out of a problem. Earlier "I was Told by a voice in a dream" that voice is your subconscious telling you what to do. Keep away from the heart of memories is a way to forget the past, means that at some very delicate moment in the past that person passed. And the chorus have a constrate with messagens motivation.

What do you feel is the best live band you've seen? Dream Theater, the sound is amazing and strong.

What drives the band que is not all that famous and renowned to try to make a living on Their music and to keep playing? We do what we like and a healthy way to unload our emotions-positive or negative. Anger, sadness, anger, joy, longing, satisfaction: all sublimated into the waves of sound. It's like a therapy side effect. A bit of tinnitus and then everything back as before.

Do you have any webpages? Yes. https://www.facebook.com/lendharian

Describe your show, visually and musically

The public is divided in two: those for and to contemplate the other party is Mosh!

We have many visuals yet, although there are many ideas about it.

If pudessimos We would do a film show but is still unfeasible. Still use what venues have us: projectors (some videos of the band playing in the background) and samplers with orchestrations in some cases, so all guided by the drummer, responsible for progress in metronome.

Come to the stage dressed in traditional way: the black prevails in shirt. E is certainly something that can change when we release a concept album, for example.

How do you view the music industry of today? Through mass culture disseminated by the media and television is easier to be led to stardom if we seek a shortcut: sticky songs, themes of love, shorter songs with little room for solos, these cliches. But we do the opposite. Art should not surrender to production. But the industrial revolution did that from the beginning of the twentieth century and the internet is promoting the rescue of art, once monopolized by TV channels. The radios also play an important role for artists. But most still have no opportunity.

What are the biggest obstacles for the band? For most musicians who have band here in Brazil, is seen as a parallel path that perseverance must overcome any adversity, if you want to keep. It is parallel because you can hardly remain exclusively in the music business, with few exceptions, such as those historically inherited a path of tradition. songs along with that a sponsor, time, expenses that support the testing, advertising and extra dispesas is required.

What advice would you like to give other bands? Do not stop doing what you love, it does well for you and bring happiness to others around you. Convey your confidence, convey honesty release your emotions and give value to your family. This can be felt in your life. It is important not to isolate yourself in one knowledge, although you have a focus. As you learn more complete as a human being and you become understandable.

How would you describe your sound in one sentence Versatile songs with reflective content.

What was one of the most quarrelsome teams for you in the band? Discuss the most part on the progress of the band. How to do better here and there, etc.. There are many obstacles that hold us certain times. We are willing to move forward into the unknown. And increasingly we prepare to overcome challenges, whether in the band, is in the direction of each.

Whats your pre-show ritual? Beer... And we talk about the musics.

Why did you pick que particular style?/What are your songs about? Heavy Metal is part of my life, I breath music all the time.

Do you write your own stuff or Mainly covers? Covers are cool but make music is better.

Have you made any albums?/If yes what are they? We have an almost ready to release a CD that the principle should be called material. The New Universe.

Do you have any clips on YouTube?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xx5XyPrS9ic

How old were you guys when you first stood on stage? Our first concert  was in 2006 in a pub called Garage on June 16 of that year. It was a striking presentation.

What year was the band started? End of 2005 we begin the rehearsals.

What places will you be playing in in the imidate future? We would like to play in Sweden. Can I help us? ha ha ha.

Is it always the same songs live? No, the songs are different every gig, with exception of the first song.

What has been the best/most promising gig so far? I remember of two gigs, the first was two year ago and we playing with Kiko Loureiro guitar player of Angra. And The second gig very important too because was the first voyage of the band for outside of Rio de Janeiro.

Have you had any bigger tours from start to now? Yes, the visibility of the band was one little children and now is the one teenage boy. Ha ha.

How big crowds do you usually play for? One hundred, two hundred people more or less.

What are the plans for the rest of the year? We intend to finish the recording of the album, we've played in some places around Rio de Janeiro and then we're going to start a new project.

How do you get psyched up for a gig? Except for our singer, beer helps take the anxiety Ha Ha.

What are your goals with your music? Music is our way of expressing art, we seek different ways to spread our art. We like to mix music with other art forms such as literature and film, and it can reach farther and farther away.

Is it easier to get your inspiration from older bands or from bands more modern? As we said before we have many references even outside of music. Our musical influences vary quite like all that is good and well done no matter whether it is new or old.

What's the first step when making a new song? For us there are several ways to start a new song, sometimes a band member presents one idea to the other members, as some of us often arrives with a song already complete which others only have the job of adapting the manner of each to run it.

How do you feel about the downloading of music instead of buying albums? Here in Brazil we have a cultural problem where we have a bad habit of do not pay for anything, and we as a band have an important function in it to try to change this behavior. Nevertheless, there is the good side of things as this ends up helping the disclosure. We do not make money that way, but at least we get disclosed. Ha Ha.

What would be your dreams for the band? Make one tour through Europe, with the next album, because the next album talk about the World War Two.

Besides your own music, what genres and bands do you listen to? Blues, Jazz and whatever sound is good and creative.

What would be your greatest fears for the future? The end of the group or death of some member.

When you are on stage, what do you fear most then? Lack of security, accidents, problems interfering structure for the presentation or audience. If it is to focus on bad things, we would not have probably participated in any gig. And not even we would leave our homes because anywhere you go, there is a risk. There are events of any type. You should not be afraid to face life out there if you expect to succeed. It's a shot in the dark, but it takes courage.

What songs and what years were they released?

Our album will feature 8 songs.Todas probably were composed in the period 2007 to 2009 The band has done several rewrites, but due to some setbacks we were stopped for a while. These are:

"Social Disorder", "Comfortable Word", "Strength to rise", "Forbidden Thoughts", "Tales of the New Universe," "Stand Alone", "Wasteland" Warning: Warming World

Do you have anything to add? Thank you so much for the interview, this interview is the first interview for outside of Brazil. And sorry for my english ha ha.
