What is the name of your band? A SECRET PLACE

What does the name "A Secret Place" stand for? A secret place where you can set yourself apart from the ordinary life.

What made you call the band "A Secret Place"? We thought that it was the most appropriate name to describe a place unknown by anyone, where we could do music freely.

How was the band formed? It was a decision of the friends Ivano Scafati (guitar), Michelangelo Catapano (vocals), and the former bass player Luca Cioccia

What made you form the band? The passion we shared about post-hardcore and music in general.

Can you briefly introduce your band and who you are? We are a post-hardcore band from Rome, active from 2010; we registered our EP by SkyStudio (BECKO, Hopes Die Last) and we have played many gigs along the years. We are part of Still Fighting Promotion family, and we are looking forward to bring our music in the whole Europe.

Where are all bandmembers from?/Who does what in the band? We all come from Rome, our singer/screamer is Michelangelo Cantalapano, the other singer is Claudio Ruggeri, Ivano Scafati and Mirko Miano play guitars and Lorenzo Virgini plays the bass. The drummer is Valerio Coretti.

What was the ambitions of the band when you started? We wanted to become a band loved for the feelings we express with our songs.

Could you explain your music to someone that haven't heard you? Our music is as strong as sweet and deep.

Where was your first gig? It was at the Blackout Rock Club, Rome, IT in 2010.

Where was the latest gig? It was on 21 september 2012, at Traffic Club, Rome.

Who writes your songs?/Who writes the music who writes lyrics? Michelangelo and Ivano usually write the lyrics, and each band member does his best to write the music.

Who has the best sense of humor in the band? The screamer! Michelangelo Cantalapano, "The Judgeman" for his friends. He's crazy!

What's good/bad with the band?/What genre do you feel you are? The only negative thing we've got in the history of the band, is the lineup changes, and we have been very sorry for this. We think to be a new-post-hardcore band with pop-punk, melodic metalcore influences.

Why did you pick that particular style?/What are your songs about? Because we followed the influences of every band member. Our lyrics, as the name of our "Words Never Said" EP says, are usually about all those repressed feelings experienced by each of us.

Do you write your own material or mainly covers? We write about our own feelings, no it's all ours!

Have you made any albums?/If yes what are they? We've just finished writing our first ep: "Words Never Said"

Do you have any clips on YouTube? Yes, we have a lyrics video for the song " I Remember" ( But you can hear the other songs 'Love's Revenge' 'Hold Me Tight' and 'Lament Before Vengeance' on our YouTube Channel (   How old are you?/What got you started in music?
