What/s the name of your band? Convicted.
How was the band formed? Back to 2002 by John Kospantsidis (vox\guitars) and Socrates Konstantinou (bass)
Can you tell about your band? We were, we are and will always be a 3 member thrash metal band.
Where are all band members from?/Who does what in the band? And the 3 of us, are from Volos, a small hometown fron Thessaly-Greece.
Convicted are:
John Kospantsidis-vox-guitars.
Socrates Konstantinou-bass.
Larry Kourtis-drums.
What was the ambitions of the band when you started? To compose good thash metal music straight from our fuckin' souls and deliver it around the world.
Could you explain your music to someone that haven't heard you? We play old school bay area thrash fuckin' metal with some crossover influences.
Where was your first gig? In our hometown Volos, back to Friday 13th December 2002.
Where was the latest gig? 5 months ago in Larissa, a town 60Kms away from Volos.
Who writes your songs?/Who writes the music who writes lyrics? All music and lyrics were written by Convicted
Why did you pick that particular style?/What are your songs about?
Because, it's what we like most.
Our songs are fast, agressive and powerfull thrash metal.
Do you write your own material or mainly covers? We have our own matterial.
Have you made any albums?/If yes what are they? We have a demo recording "nuclear escape" back to 2003 and a full length album "convicted" back to 2008.
Do you have any clips on YouTube? We have uploaded only the music so far and we haven't got any videoclips but it's in our future plans.
How old are you?/What got you started in music? And the 3 of us are almost 35 years old. We started listening to this music when we were kids in the sweet age of 14.
At what age did you start playing? We started playing our instruments in the age of 18.
How old were you guys when you first stood on stage? We were 22 years old when we played our first live show.
What year was the band started? The band was formed on May 28th 2002.
What places will you be playing in in the imidate future? No futyre plans for live shows by the moment but any proposals are most welcomed.
Where have you played from then till now? It's a very difficult question to answer, we played so many live shows so far, mostly in Greece and in Germany.
Which band is the best you/ve seen? Very difficult question, I think ACDC, Motorhead, Slayer, Nuclear Assault and Exodus with the classic line-up.
Is it always the same songs live? no!! always plays a different We try to make a different playlist every time we play live.
What has been the best/most promising gig so far? Maybe our show in the Thrash 'till death festival back to 2005, our show with Tankard back to 2003, with Sodom (2008) and with DRI (2008).
Have you had any bigger tours from start to now? Unfortunately, not.
How big crowds do you usually play for? 150-200 persons usually.
What are the plans for the rest of the year? The release of our forthcoming recording.
Where do you usually play? We usually play in our hometown and the cities near it.
How do you get psyched up for a gig? Nothing special, we just drink a couple of beers and that's all.
What are your goals with your music? To make people's minds up.
Is it easier to get your inspiration from older bands or from bands more modern? We are inspired from older bands of course.
What are your sources of inspiration? Basically, the bay area thrash metal scene.
What's the first step when making a new song? To make another new song....He,he,he!
How do you feel about the downloading of music instead of buying albums? We are against the downloading. According to our opinion, it causes huge damage to the music and it's musicians.
What would be your dreams for the band? To last as much as possible.
Besides your own music, what genres and bands do you listen to? We listen to heavy metal, thrash metal and death metal music.
What would be your greatest fears for the future? To stop playing and enjoying our music.
When you are on stage, what do you fear most then? We fear nothing, thrash 'till death.
Have you been part of any other projects? No, we are 100% dedicated to Convicted.
Have you been in any other bands? No.
What would you do if there was no music? We would rather die.
How important are your fans? Very, very important. It's a very serious motivation for the band's existence.
What's the funniest/most memorable thing a fan has done for you? He made an I LOVE CONVICTED T-shirt.
How often do you rehearse? Twice a week.
Where do you rehearse? In a rehearsal studio in our neighborhood.
Name 2 of your own songs you like at the moment? Total termination and Minds of war.
What drives a band that isn't all that famous and renowned to try to make a living on their music and to keep playing? The love and respect for the musical art.
Do you have any webpages? We have a web page in Facebook.
How do you view the musicindurty of today? Just a pile of junk. No respect for the music and the artists at all.
What advice would you like to give other bands? Never give up, never stop playing.
What is best/worst with playing the clubs? The best thing with playing in clubs, is the thrash metal atmosphere between the band and the fans.
The worst is the heat...
Tell us about upcomming gigs and why we should be at them? No upcoming gigs at the moment, but when you'll hear about a Convicted show near you, you better show up, because we are gonna thrash your metal head in.
