interview with Hellektrogen

What´s the name of your band? Hellektrogen

How was the band formed?  Meeting of friends from friends

Can you tell about your band? We are playing a mix of styles between thrash and death with also progressive and hardcore influences such as little pieces of heavy, power and math metal.

Where are all band members from?/Who does what in the band? All the members are from France, Fabien is the drummer, i am the gittarist and jason the singer, we are searching for a new bassist nowadays.

What was the ambitions of the band when you started? To make a lot of concerts, to record some CDs, to have fun and meet people , to spend good time playing a frontierless metal !

Could you explain your music to someone that haven't heard you? Think of the feeling of the 90s thrash metal with pieces of death and progressive and without boring passages.

Where was your first gig? In france, town called village neuf

Where was the latest gig? In france , town called marmoutier

Who writes your songs?/Who writes the music who writes lyrics? I (gittarist) write the riffs and structures of the songs, then we modify the structures with the drummer. He composes his parts during the process. And then the singer writes his lyrics when the song is musically over.

Who has the best since of humor in the band? I (gittarist) and the drummer

What's good/bad with the band?/What genre do you feel you are? What's good is doing music without vanity, no vestimentary styles, always as if it was the last show, pure energy and good vibes with the audience

What's bad is changing hte musicians often because of the people who are moving to other countries and have to leave the band. So it is hard to make progress regularly.

We are feeling like a progressive thrash-death band

Why did you pick that particular style?/What are your songs about? Because we couldn't do a simple music with just 3 verses and 3 chorus, we quickly get boring with this. So we are fan of making a music which demands attention and research. We don't want to bore ourselves and don't want to get the audience boring.

Do you write your own material or mainly covers? Mainly own material with one or two covers sometimes.

Have you made any albums?/If yes what are they? No official albums

Do you have any clips on YouTube? Yes some clips on youtube or dailymotion in live situation

Best gig in Altkirch before 300 people from all ages and not specially metal fans. It was amazing because the younger people were having pogo in the front of the scene and the family guys were appreciating in the back, great great moment.

Worst gig in a bar between a table football and a billiard table in front of 8 or 10 people...

What places will you be playing in in the imidate future? We don't know yet because we are searching a bass player and could not play without.

Where have you played from then till now? In france, germany and switzerland

How do you feel about the downloading of music instead of buying albums?

A good thing for discovering fresh new bands and older who gets enough money.

But i think it's killing most of the young bands who are trying to live from it, a shame that the younger people don't give a shit about helping the great artists to live from their talent.

What would be your dreams for the band?  My dream for the band would be playing before slayer one time

Besides your own music, what genres and bands do you listen to?

I almost listen a little bit of rock and reggae.
