What´s the name of your band? Necrotic Woods
How was the band formed? thorn and nachzehrer had some drinks in a club called felsenkeller and decided they should start a band together called Necrotic Woods. for details you can check out our biography, for example on facebook (see the link below)
Where are all band members from?/Who does what in the band? We are all from the Steinheim region in germany

What was the ambitions of the band when you started? we initially just wanted to play raw black metal,but if you listen to our first record "Exaltation of Death" you'll notice that there already were many other influences
Could you explain your music to someone that haven't heard you? back in 2004 we started playing pure black metal. Now there are many other influences like death, doom, thrash and a taste of perverted rock n roll!
Where was your first gig? Still reaching for darkness festival part 2 in 2005
Where was the latest gig? Rock Cafe Sodom in Tongeren (Belgium)
Who writes your songs?/Who writes the music who writes lyrics? The whole band writes the music, while thorn is in charge of the lyrics
Who has the best since of humor in the band? All of us (mostly with hangover)
Why did you pick that particular style?/What are your songs about? The style emerged from the personal musical tastes of the members / While the main subject on our first release was suicide,
The upcoming album 'The Nameless Dark' deals with the thoughts and emotions of a lone wanderer in a post-holocaust setting
Do you write your own material or mainly covers? We write our own material and sometimes play covers for fun

At what age did you start playing? We all got started at ages between 6 and 10

How big crowds do you usually play for? between 50 and 200 people
What are the plans for the rest of the year? some more shows are scheduled and we'll continue to promote the release of our next album
How do you get psyched up for a gig? We try not to drink too much but usually do it anyways...
What are your goals with your music? We just do what we want - if someone likes it it's cool.
When did you decide to go all in for the music? from the very beginning
What are your sources of inspiration?
Speaking of the vocals, it's mainly classical literature like e. a. poe, books, religion and the darkness in each being
concerning the music, it's all the ever-changing influences each member brings to the rehearsals on a weekly basis
What's the first step when making a new song? sometimes there are lyrics first, sometimes there are riffs we like. we try to combine both parts in a way each member approves
How do you feel about the downloading of music instead of buying albums? we don't really care at the moment; it's more important for us to gain as many listeners as possible
What would be your dreams for the band? playing bigger tours with bands we fancy ourselves
Besides your own music, what genres and bands do you listen to? answering this would definitely take much too long - it's not even limited to metal
Have you been part of any other projects? yes, spitt played with nocturnal pulse, thorn was the vocalist of vicious circle, leech played drums for withering eternity & surgery, nachzehrer had a band called the skeletonz and brew had some no-name projects
What's the funniest/most memorable thing a fan has done for you?´a gay russian guy painted himself on a t-shirt for thorn and gave it to him
How often do you rehearse? twice a week
Name 2 of your own songs you like at the moment? we like them all of course, but "The Indifferent Sun" and "Oneiric" are really great to to play live
What do you feel is the best live band you've seen? several like behemoth, carpathian forest, kampfar or mayhem

Describe your show, visually and musically There's blood, ashes and madness
Tell us about upcomming gigs and why we should be at them? as said above, there are some local gigs scheduled. keep following us on facebook to stay updated. you should of course be at them to have a drink with us - otherwise, you would miss out on some shows that probably will be considered legendary in about 20 years hrhr.
