What´s the name of your band? Nightbreed

How was the band formed? Nightbreed was formed by me and my brother a while back, after over a year of searching for band members we found  our bassist which eventually lead to finding our vocalist.

Can you tell about your band? Nightbreed is a true extreme black metal band formed to create the fastest, heaviest and most extreme music possible.

Where are all band members from?/Who does what in the band? The band was formed in St. John's, Newfoundland. My name is Paimon, I am the guitarist, Crucifer is our drummer, Sjorover is our bassist and Miasmas is our vocalist.

What was the ambitions of the band when you started? To create most extreme music possible.

Could you explain your music to someone that haven't heard you? True Extreme Black Metal

Where was your first gig? Our first gig will be at the Distortion on December 5th. We are supported by Threat Assessment, Winterhearth and Dark Era. 

Who writes your songs?/Who writes the music who writes lyrics? The songs are written as a band effort. Generally Me and Sjorover will write the riffs, Crucifer will write his own drum tracks and finally Miasmas will write lyrics.

What genre do you feel you are? True Extreme Black Metal

Why did you pick that particular style?/What are your songs about? Well personally I play black metal because I feel it is the truest form of metal. The feeling, the power, the emotion. It's down to the bone! Our songs our about Satanism , war, and the hypocrisies of christianity.

Do you write your own material or mainly covers? We pride ourselves in writing originals. 

Have you made any albums?/If yes what are they? We are currently in the process of recording our first demo.

Do you have any clips on YouTube? Yes, there is a old rehearsal clip of us practicing the songs Nightbreed and Torn Apart by Demons. It may have been the first time we jammed with our singer.

How old are you?/What got you started in music? I am 23, I've always been interested in music, especially metal.

At what age did you start playing? I started playing guitar at the age of 12.

What year was the band started? Nightbreed was officially formed in 2013.

What places will you be playing in in the imidate future? The Distortion on December 5th with Threat Assessment, Winterhearth and Dark Era.

Is it always the same songs live? No. We write and will always write new and original music.

What are the plans for the rest of the year? We plan to finish recording and release our first demo, play as many shows as possible and take over the newfoundland metal scene!

What are your goals with your music? To be the best that we can be and always push ourselves foward, To create the most extreme, heaviest and fastest sic possible, and to spread the word of satan.

When did you decide to go all in for the music? 10 years ago, music is my life.

Is it easier to get your inspiration from older bands or from bands more modern? I take inspiration from both.

What are your sources of inspiration? My inspirations as a guitarist are Tom Warrior, Trey Azagthoth, and Morgan Steinmeyer Hakansson. But the overall inspiration for Nightbreed are bands like 1349, Gorgoroth and of course Marduk.

What's the first step when making a new song? Writing the riffs.

How do you feel about the downloading of music instead of buying albums? While I do prefer buying music myself, downloading is very useful for obtaining hard to find music so in that sense it is a good thing.

What would be your dreams for the band? To release albums and tour the world until the day I die.

Besides your own music, what genres and bands do you listen to? I listen to mainly Black Metal and a bit of old school satanic Death and Thrash Metal.

What do you hold most dear? My band and our music.

What would be your greatest fears for the future? Not being able to play my music.

Have you been in any other bands? No, I don't believe in being in more than one band at a time. I think that when you are in a band that you should be dedicated to that band and not waste any focus on it on other projects. I believe that this is the main problem with the local scene here.

What would you do if there was no music? I don't even want to think about it.

How important are your fans? The fans are number one to me. Without the fans the band is nothing.

How often do you rehearse? As much as possible.

Where do you rehearse? Underground

What drives a band that isn't all that famous and renowned to try to make a living on their music and to keep playing? Pure and simple: The music.

Describe your show, visually and musically?

We want our first show to be a surprise to everyone. It will be the most insane extreme show this island has ever seen, musically and visually.

Tell us about upcomming gigs and why we should be at them? Our first show will be on December 5th at the Distortion. We will be supported by the great local bands Threat Assessment (Death/Thrash Metal), Winterhearth (Black/Thrash Metal) and Dark Era (Blackend Crust Punk). People should go because this will be one of the best shows this town has every seen, with a incredible line up of all true pure bands. No Poser Shit. It's not to be missed!
