interview with Pasieka Obłędu
Have any of you played in other bands? For most of us this band is our first and only. Our drummer currently plays in one more band called Wildstrike.
How is it that you started playing music? For some of us it was finding a new hobby, passion for music (wanting not only to listen but to create) or like for our bass player to find a girlfriend (he still couldn’t manage to do it).
What are your names? / Who plays what? / How old are you?

Have you had other previous members? We’ve had previously two drummers.
Where are you from? Kraków (Cracow), Poland
What year did the band form? 2010
What's your style of genre? We don’t like to classify our genre because it’s a mix of heavy metal, hard rock and punk.
What inspires you? We get our inspiration from other bands and world that surrounds us.
How often and where do you rehearse? Once a week.
How have you developed since you started with the music? It’s hard to judge but we’ve started basically from the scratch (we didn’t know how to play instruments). Considering that we can say that we came a long way.
What are your songs about? We like to write about world and stuff that is important for us: addiction, the meaning of life, history of our country and so on.
Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? Most of music is written by our guitarist Damian but the final piece is never a work of one person. Everyone adds something from themselves – either it is a concept to play something different, lyrics or a new part of a song.
Do you start with the music or the lyrics? There’s no rule but it’s usually the music that is first finished.
Have you done any covers live? Yep and by this whole time quite a lot of those.
What language do you sing in? English and polish.
What ages are most of your concert attendants? They are usually our school friends so about 20 years old.
Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? Right now we don’t have enough of our own songs to choose from but we try to change some covers on each gig.
Do you have a regular place you play live often? No we try to play in different spots.
What was your first gig like? Our first gig was really awesome. It was in small pub in Kraków near Main Square. There were a lot of our friends and they seemed to enjoy our songs. We were really nervous but after few songs we’ve let the music do the work. We think that this gig is one of our favorites.
What was your latest gig? We’ve played our last gig in Kraków in ‘Klub Meta’ on 4th July.
Where do you plan to gig the comming year? We want to find some festivals and contests near Kraków, so that we could reach wider audience.
When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? Right now we sell only our EP – ‘Pytania Bez Odpowiedzi’. People can buy it from us directly or sending us a message on Facebook.
What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? We think that downloading song from the Internet is kind of promotion for a band. It is easier to reach people from all over the world with such websites as Youtube or Facebook. Nowadays CDs have more collector value than before.
Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? Some of us find it easier from older ones and some from more active today. It depends on the person.
Do you have any new material? Recently we’ve finished one song and have some more to arrange.
