interview with Tinörks

What´s the name of your band? Tinörks
How was the band formed? I met Shizuku Kawahara when both were at university. We have make and play music since it. Other side I got contact from Yusuke Shimono as guitarist 2 years ago and we got along famously in thinking of way of music.
Can you tell about your band? Unawares spread landscape when somewhere nostalgic relax places Music to travel to such a landscape Ireland and Native American flute,The glockenspiel of pastel colors,  Lap harp of the world tree, keyboard harmonica.
A lot of instruments and  pleasant moment everyday changes in just a little bit fancy
Where are all band members from?/Who does what in the band? All members are from Osaka city of the capital of humor and takoyaki in Japan. Takoyaki is traditional food.

What was the ambitions of the band when you started? It’s live in the Nordic and listen our landscape music to people there.
Where was your first gig? The first important gig that a space design guitarist joined us had in  Swedish cafe Fågel Blå in Osaka.
Where was the latest gig? It’s KINSE RYOKAN that is Japanese old style hotel since Edo period. There is unusual location.
Who writes your songs?/ who writes the music who writes lyrics? All songs are written by Hosei Tatemizu as a leader, keyboard player and programer.
Who has the best since of humor in the band? It’s just me. It's a important straight man in aLL jokes in gig master of ceremonies.  Because other member is so funny man and woman.>What's good/bad with the band?/What genre do you feel you are?

Have you made any albums?/If yes what are they? Tinörks ever released six CDs included EP. The first is the acoustic album of almost only flute and piano and the last is the floating electronica album.

At what age did you start playing? I started playing classic piano around the time of the third grade elementary school. But I stopped it after 1 year.
What year was the band started? It’s 2007.
Best/worst gig you've played? The Best interesting gig was in planetarium in 16th Nov. 2014. It’s organized by star cafe SPICA master and dancing many stars and constellations in the hall.
What places will you be playing in in the imidate future? We maybe play in a theater before summer. Now we have met theatrical member.
Where have you played from then till now? We have ever played in Japanese temple, cafe, live house, factory, CD shop, old Japanese style hotel, outdoor musical festival, housing exhibition, kagura hall, and department store.
Witch band is the best you´ve seen? In the particular case of indies musicians, it’s the band “marcoheibei” which one of  the member “Yusuke" of Tinörks joins. It’s the post ethnic orchestra formed by Sitar, Tabla, Uplight Bass, Theremin and Guitar. Their sound is very strange and amazing groove!

Is it always the same songs live?  Yes. The famous songs of us are “Fullerene” and “Homing”.
Have you had any bigger tours from start to now? Yes. Because we released a new album “ODOMYUNICA” in Nov. 2014 we had a gig tour around Nagoya, Tokyo, Saitama, Kyoto and Osaka city since the beginning of this year.
What are the plans for the rest of the year? Playing in a theater before summer.  And then we maybe play in foreign countries. For example Asia or Europe... It’s just our dream.
Where do you usually play? We don’t have specified places for gigs. They are usually decided unexpectedly by fate.
How do you get psyched up for a gig? When my improvisation was fantastic sound or  we had a special collaboration with other musicians in only that gig.
What are your goals with your music? My goals give many relaxing landscapes to more people through my music.  And meeting more people and more musicians, continuing to express my music so as to draw a picture.
What are your sources of inspiration? It seemed it’s something other than music, picture architecture book and so on.
What's the first step when making a new song? I make my mind stillness and then image a place I want to trip and float in fantasy world.
How do you feel about the downloading of music instead of buying albums?  It's a good efficiency way. 
Besides your own music, what genres and bands do you listen to? efterklang, amiina, mum, Ólafur Arnalds, tape, YMO, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Shugo Tokumaru.
What do you hold most dear? The difference between other and background behind the music
What would be your greatest fears for the future? That might increase the war in the world. Many good music maybe become less.
When you are on stage, what do you fear most then? Becoming anxious that I can believe in myself whether or not.
Have you been part of any other projects? 
Yes. I joined in some projects. One of them is yugi’s ambient music. He is Japanese monk and also crystal bowl player. I played deep sea piano and synthesizer  in his album “ROKUDAI -The six elements-" and gigs.

What would you do if there was no music? I maybe draw many picture like Vincent Willem van Gogh or Claude Monet.
How important are your fans? I am always sincerely grateful to our fans because support us whenever.
What's the funniest/most memorable thing a fan has done for you? It’s post some liner notes written by them of the songs on their twitter and blogs. It’s very interesting for me because it has a persuasive power than written by me.

Describe your show, visually and musically Audience can float landscapes they haven’t ever seen in each mind somewhere by our music with a lot instruments, flutes, melodion, lap harp, guitar, synthsizers and more. Unawares they are surrounded relaxing and warming and soft sounds. It’s just a landscape they want to see surely.
Tell us about upcomming gigs and why we should be at them? We’ll have a special gig organized by unless at artyard studio in 28th Feb. 2015. The gig title is “IGLOO” which means snow dome” in Inuit. In the hall decorated to a snow dome, we’ll enjoy playing soft electronica. Because the gig is not standard but more artistic and like almost installation in modern museum, it is worth you join.

What is your favorite crappy instrument? Old toy piano made in France and small metallophone in German
Whats your Pre-show ritual? It’s jus sleep sleep sleep.
