Marcin "Majeran" Majrowski 26 - Guitar

Have you had other previous members? Yes, Lukasz 'Karas' Karasowski on guitar and Lukasz 'Moses' Picheta on bass.

Did you make music even when you were young? Yes, all of us started quite early on other instruments, mostly keyboards.

Where are you from? Tricity, northern part of Poland.

What year did the band form? 2010

What's your style of genre? Death metal

What inspires you? There is wide spectrum from classic hard rock to brutal death metal and everything between.

How often and where do you reherse? Mostly once a week in our own rehersal room in Gdynia.

How have you developed since you started with the music? Nowadays we are creating more complex and technically demanding songs. Also we are covering difficult subjects in our lyrics, we are more confident of our views and we are expressing them strongly.

Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? We are not looking for booking agency yet. We manage to do everything by ourselves. Booking agencies are really important in music industry and help the bands tour around the world. Of course there are a lot of cheaters among those people.

Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? We are not looking for label yet. Labels are also very important in the music industry, they help to spread the music and make bands develop.

What made you decide to make this music? I got bored of playing covers, and started to create my own riffs. After some time riffs became songs. When I got few songs written and knew what kind of music I want to play the search for musicians began.

What are your songs about? The lyrics are about the shit that pisses off, things which are the scar on society.

Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? We make music together as a band, someone has an idea and the rest of us contribute. Most of the lyrics are written by me.

Do you start with the music or the lyrics? Mostly the music is done before the lyrics, but I also have few lyric ideas on my PC or sheets of paper.

Do you compose in a certain inviroment? Not really, usually it is my room. All depends on my mood, best ideas come with anger.

Have you done any covers live? Once, we covered song called Elder misanthropy by The Black Dahlia Murder

What language do you sing in?English.

What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs? The least people on our gig were in Tawerna Rumia, not so far from our hometown. Only 2 or 3 persons watched our show. The most people were in Wacken, Germany, aprox. 3000 persons.

Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? Usually we play the same set, mostly because we have chosen ten strongest songs, which cover wide spectrum of our creativity.

Do you have a regular place you play live often? No, we do not have that kind of place.

What was your first gig like? To be honest, for me personally it was very stressful nut everything changed after first song. People heard us for the first time and gave us really good feedback. That was really encouraging.

Have you had to cancel a gig? Unfortunately yes (once or twice) due to circumstances beyond our control.

Where do you plan to gig the comming year? We are planning to play few gigs in Russia, Belarus and Germany. We also want to tour more across Poland.

When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? After releasing our demo in 2010. We are selling our cds and t-shirts.

Where can people buy your merchandise? On our gigs and via our facebook page - www.facebook.com/devilsnote

What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records nowadays? I think if music is really good and worth buying people will buy it anyway. Internet is a great tool for promoting any kind of creativeness. I will not be the judge, everyone should behave in harmony with his conscience.

How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? It is really hard to say. I believe that because that interview other people will see that we are serious band with strong attitude and our music is forethought.

Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? In my opinion it is really important to know the roots of music you like but it is also important to know how the music is done nowadays. New bands have a lot of fresh ideas and they also redo old ones with different (mostly better) way.

What advice would you give other bands or artists? Always do what suits you, play like you want, don't become a servant of other people. Accept the critics and make yourself and your band better. Music should be pleasure not torture.

Do you have any new material? Yeas, we are constantly making new songs. We have a lot of different ideas and we keep our minds open.
