interview with Nontinuum

Have any of you played in other bands? Yes, I believe that every person that has been a part of Nontinuum has been in other bands.

Have you had other previous members? Sort of, there have been a few different live/session members over the years.

What year did the band form? If my memory serves me correctly, I put together the first songs in 2010.

What's your style of genre? Non-True Black Metal

What inspires you? Mostly other music, movies and things that I read. Also, more importantly I am inspired/influenced by various plights in Australia and around the world.

How have you developed since you started with the music? Well, the first demo is very primitive and minimalist. Current material is a lot heavier, more dense and layered.

Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? I am currently in talks with a few labels in regards to releasing the new Nontinuum album.

What made you decide to make this music? Catharsis.

What are your songs about? Struggle

Have you done any covers live? No.

What language do you sing in? English

What was your first gig like? It was a black metal festival with some of the best bands from Australia in the genre. It was big, but the vibe was weird.

What was your latest gig? The last show we played was with Idylls, I think.

Have you had to cancel a gig? Yes, we had to pull out of a show with Rosetta.

Where have you played live this year? No shows have been played the last 2 years.

What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? I think it is okay, it means that your music can be heard by people who may not have otherwise heard it. If you like it, buy a record or a shirt though.

Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? Both.

Do you have any new material? Yes, a new album.

What are your web sites? http://nontinuum.bandcamp.com

Do you have something to add? Thanks for the interview.
