interview with Lost In Japan

Have any of you played in other bands? Yes, We have all been in past bands.
How is it that you started playing music?
Well We all have been playing music for as long as we can remember. We started playing as a band about 6 or 7 months ago.
What are your names? / Who plays what? / How old are you?
Addison Is our lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Chris Is our lead guitarist and backing vocals, Nolan is our Bass player and James is our drummer. We are all in our early 20s. So it’s a good time to be touring.
Have you had other previous members?
Wehad one other previous member he wanted to join another punk band so he left. He was our old drummer we only had him in the band for about a week
Did you make music even when you were young?
Oh all the time. It was the one thing that we all have always wanted to do with our lives!
Where are you from?
London, Canada!
What year did the band form?
2016
What's your style of genre?
indie Rock/ Pop
How often and where do you rehearse?
We try to rehearse at least once a week. Sometimes it is difficult to get together because we all live about an hour drive away from eachother.
Do you have other interests of work outside the band?
Each member still works with music regardless if we’re jamming with the band or not. Our bass player works at a music store selling gear. Our singer books and promotes shows for other bands as well.
Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that?
We are always keeping our eyes open to every opportunity that comes our way! We think Labels can be very helpful to some people and not so helpful to others so we want to make sure it is the best possible outcome for us and the label if we got with one!
Who does the composing and writes the lyrics?
Addison(Our singer) Usually brings the barebones of a song to a practice and we all sort of come together and make it into something cool!
Do you start with the music or the lyrics?
Generally music, It just is easier to add stuff to something already prepared.
Have you done any covers live?
We like to have covers for our live set. We all choose a song and we craft it into our own version of it. In a way its like writing a song.
What language do you sing in?
English! We’re always open to learn new languages haha.
Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary?
Well, When we’re going on tour we like to change it up some nights and play songs in different orders just to make it interesting for ourselves and sometimes for returning fans.
What was your first gig like?
Very sweaty and a tad bit unorganized. We we’re playing this little venue here in London called East Village Arts Collective. Or EVAC for short. It was still a good time just didn’t really know who was bringing what gear before hand.
Have you had to cancel a gig?
We try not to. But if we absolutely can’t make it then we’ll cancel a show. Or try and find a way to make the show moved.
Where do you plan to gig the comming year?
Well, we hope to be doing another tour sometime in the near future! So we’ll have more details for that soon.
Where can people buy your merchandise?
Oh you can buy them at any show or on our website!
What do you think of my work?
We love what you’re doing! Spreading the word of music and getting out there and helping new artists of the industry! Keep it up brother.
Do you have any role models or idols?
Well our singer is a huge fan of The Arkells and other Indie artists. Our Lead Guitarist is a huge John Mayer fan as well! We think they are great goals to set for the future.
How do you get psyched for a gig?
Before Each show we all have a pep talk and blast some very fast and intense music… Just kidding about that last part but yeah, before we go on stage its really important to get the blood flowing and give yourself a little motivational talk.
Do you have any new material?
We are currently in the process of writing new material right now so stay tuned for that.

https://www.lostinjapanofficial.com
