What are your names? / Who plays what? / How old are you?  Yves Côté drummer 48 years old, Syd Bédard bass and lead vocal 48 years old and Jean-François Arsenault lead guitar and back vocals 46 years old

Have you had other previous members? In Flying Joes they had a lot of drummers, i’m the 8 one

Did you make music even when you were young? We all start Learning music at 11 years old approximately

Where are you from?  We are from Montréal, Québec, Canada

What year did the band form?  Flying Joes was formed in 2014 and they release there first album in september 2015

What's your style of genre? Old school rock, some UK magasine said that it sound like old ZZTop, Lynird Skynird and Led Zeppelin

What inspires you?  Old rock and blues mostly, but we listen to a lot of different music

How often and where do you reherse? We play each week and reherse every 2 weeks

How have you developed since you started with the music? Music help a lot with the emotions, so more you practice, more good you become

Do you have other interests of work outside the band?  I’m the only one who has a day job, my 2 partners only live with music.  As for myself i love to read and ride bycicle

Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? We are looking for one, but the industry change so much, it’s very hard to find one, they want fast success and fast cash earning. They don’t give a lot of chance to bands unfortunately

Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that?  We manage our own label but still looking for one.  With internet now it is very hard to sell albums so we try to ajust to the new reality of the music industry

What made you decide to make this music? It was the thing that makes me feel that it’s the best part of me i’m showing

What are your songs about?  Love, life, politics and fun

Who does the composing and writes the lyrics?  Syd and J-F does all the composing, but the lirics are from Syd

Do you start with the music or the lyrics?  I would say that more than 90% of the composing starts with the music.

Do you compose in a certain inviroment?  The guys have mini studios at home so they compose at there place

Have you done any covers live? Oh yes, a lot and we still do some for certain bars and private party’s

What language do you sing in? In english

What ages are most of your concert attendants?  I would say between 30 and 50 years old, but we still make younger fans( between 16 and 30 years old), that i think is very cool

Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary?  We vary, we all know a lots of songs

Do you have a regular place you play live often?  There is 2 or 3 place that we go often but we play everywhere they want us

What was your latest gig?  We -played last week end in a casino

Have you had to cancel a gig?  No, fortunately we never had to cancel a gig

Where have you played live this year?  We play live every week end

When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? We start to sell merch since the album was release, we sell albums, t_shirt, ear rings, necklaces

Where can people buy your merchandise? At every show they can buy stuff but they can have it too on the Flying Joes web page.  Flying Joes .com

What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? It is kiling the industry, musician don’t make that money anymore so a lot of band won’t have the Financial to continue

How do you think the music industry have changed because of this?  Well, like governements, the industry keep the cash and is not much for the musucian after that unfortunately

What do you think of my work?  I love to see that people like you still love music, musician and in a way blogs like yours surely hael bands, that is very cool

How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? Well , we never know who will read it so it cannot be a bad thing

Do you have any role models or idols?  For myself i would say that Jonh Bonham and Ian Paice are my favorite drummers and influence me a lot

Why do you think that they exist?  Because the past industry was taking risk with bands, good for us because i think the today industry will have never sign any led zeppelin of this world.  All these old bands create incredible music, all in a different ways, so that is why i think tehy have bring so much to the music

Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today?  Oh yes, today’s music that is impose by the radio’s to the people is not vey good it is just a money issue, but old band were more creative

What have been your biggest obstacles? Try to make our place in a money industry that does not put music first

What advice would you give other bands or artists?  Play because you like to play, do your best and build your road and have fun to do it even it is very tough to have a career
