interview with Lethal Storm
Have any of you played in other bands? Lethal Storm: Yes, our current drummer Fabio Luiz has already played in a Heavy Metal band called Steel Machine where he was guitarist at the time, our bass played in a band called Causa Mortis and Spaw Of Hell before playing Lethal and our guitarist Diego "lethal" also played in "Spaw of Hell" and our vocalist Douglas Mota played in a band called "Winters Breath".
How is it that you started playing music? Lethal Storm: We are all self-taught, we start early, between 14 and 16 years, we are all passionate about music.
What are your names? / Who plays what? / How old are you? Lethal Storm: The current formation of lethal Storm is Douglas "Indão" Vocalist 27 years, Diego "Lethal" Guitarist 30 years old, Luciano Santos Guitarist 30 years old, Haroldo Sanchez Bass player 41 years old and Fabio Luiz 30 years old drummer.
Have you had other previous members? Lethal Storm: We had some members from the beginning of the band, some formed other bands, others did not follow in the music.
Where are you from? Lethal Storm: The lethal Storm was founded in Campinas (São Paulo) Brazil and all the members living in Campinas SP Brazil.
What year did the band form? Lethal Storm: The band started in 2007 in the city of Campinas (São Paulo) Brazil.
What's your style of genre? Lethal Storm: We call ourselves Death / Thrash Metal
What inspires you? Lethal Storm: From the beginning of the band we heard Sepultura, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Amon Amarth, Megadeath and Pantera, we always try to listen to bands in this style.
How often and where do you reherse? Lethal Storm: Currentl the band rehearses once a week, because we all have our work to keep us, we rehearse in a our own studio on bassist house.
How have you developed since you started with the music? Lethal storm: The band has progressed a lot since the beginning of their activities, the musics are more full and have more quality.
Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? Lethal Storm; We already had some advisories from bands, but we were not lucky, surely if serious and committed companies appear, we will think with affection.
Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? We are looking for a record company to help us make the CDs, and to distribute them all over the world.
What are your songs about? We talk about everyday life, you criticize politics and religion. We make music for what we like, and a way of expressing ourselves.
Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? All members of the band participate in the composition, we don't have a ready recipe, some musics we make the instrumetal first and others we fit over some letter, which to get better.
What language do you sing in? The songs are all in English except for Corruptos that are in a our language
What ages are most of your concert attendants? Our shows have public of all ages from 15 years to 60 years, the public has been receiving our songs very well, some bars don't let under 18 enter so our audience in shows revolves around this, but on the internet we noticed a public grew from Young.
Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? We have our repertoire of songwriting, but we've always played some covers of Slayer, Amon Amath, now less than before, but we play from time to time.
Do you have a regular place you play live often? In our city has few options of bars, but we do not usually play in the same places, But the problem is that we already played all the bars
What was your latest gig? Hard to remember the first show, but I believe it was in a small bar in our neighborhood called "TOCA DO URSO", a very good bar by the way, our last show was and February of this year 2017, where we played at "SEBASTIAN BAR" Side of the band NERVOSA and KAMALA.
Have you had to cancel a gig? Not that I remember
When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? At the moment we are selling our album Manipulated Mind, through Itunes, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play, but this year our physical debut album will be ready Manipulated Mind
What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? In the current times and the most normal thing, many bands do not have material and money to pay for expenses, the digital sale ends up being an exit.
How do you think the music industry have changed because of this? We all have to adapt the changes, with the big industry is not being different. In Brazil it is very expensive to buy a cd that comes from outside.
What do you think of my work? It's always good to have someone who helps the bands, it's an essential job for all bands. Always continue, go ahead.
How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? Without a doubt, the band's work will be released, and it will be able to present other bands as well.
Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? We currently have excellent bands, and we know the older bands expire us, and the bands today served as an expriration for future bands.
What have been your biggest obstacles? Getting firm members was one of the biggest difficulties.
What advice would you give other bands or artists? Most of all, do for Love.
Do you have any new material? We have just released our debut album "Manipulated Mind" and a video clip for the song Chemical Slave and a Lyric video for the song Mass Annihilation.
