interview med Episcopal Holocaust

What is the name of your band? Episcopal Holocaust
What does the name "Episcopal Holocaust" stand for? A hatred for all organised religions. These false pathways to the divine are created only to cause fear and to condition one to a life of submission and conformity to the will of a few deranged, child molesting, egomaniacal scumbags. In turn, the populace of sheep becomes a thing also to be hated for their ignorance and stupidity. Organised religions need to be wiped off the face of the earth if humanity has any hope for evolution.
What made you call the band "Episcopal Holocaust"? It reflects my personal idiology. I would very much like to see the great religious leaders of the world hanged, as well as a large portion of their followers.
What started you in music? A fascination for creating something out of nothing, and as a conduit for my hate.
What made you form the band? This has always been a one man band, members were added for stage performances.
Where are you from? Montreal, Canada.
What places will you be playing in? Episcopal Holocaust has no plans to play shows anytime soon.
Who plays what? I play everything.
What was the ambitions of the band when you started? To be able to do everything myself.
What is the story of your album Northern Tyranny? All my albums are chapters to a larger work. This story began in 2010 with APVTH's 'The Goetic Sessions: Gateways to the Necropolis', which was followed by APVTH's 'The Necropolis'. It was the death of APVTH. From those ashes, Episcopal Holocaust was born and a self-titled EP was released at the end of 2011. Northern Tyranny is Episcopal Holocaust still in its infancy, still raw, slowly evolving into its true form.
What songs are included on the Northern Tyranny album released? Invocation of Amdusias, The Words of the Snake, Divine Retribution ( For the Honour of Satan), In League with the Devil, Black Hearts in Winter Realm, The Darkness that Dwells Within, Pride in Blood and Northern Lands (featuring Tamara Picardo of Upon Shadows), and With the Might of Satan III.13 (bonus track).
Have you Any videos out? Episcopal Holocaust has no videos, but all music can be found on Youtube. I am planning a video for a song off the upcoming album. Like my albums, it will have a budget of $0.
How often do you rehearse? Never. If I play it is to record.
What year was the band started? In 1994 as APVTH. In 2011, the band was relaunched as Episcopal Holocaust.
Where have you played from then till now? APVTH played its last show in 2006.
What songs were in your live sets? APVTH songs. We did a few covers as well, from Motorhead to Black Sabbath.
Was it always the same set's live? No, that would have been very boring for us.
Where was your first gig? In a small metal bar in Montreal called The Cathouse.
What has been the best/most promising gig so far? The final show we did at the Cathouse was memorable and resulted in a ban due to some... damage. I would say that was the show I enjoyed the most.
Have you had any bigger tours from start till now? No, shows were never a priorety for me. When we wore corpse paint in the mid 90's it went over peoples heads. There was never a large market for our style here. Montreal has always been more of a death metal scene, but these last few years have seen a big rise in black metal.
How big crowds did you usually play for? We played shit holes in those days, so if we had a hundred people, we were happy.
What are the plans for the rest of the year? To work on the new album.
What genre do you feel you are? Metal.
Why did you pick that particular style? Because I don't like disco.
What are your songs about? Mysanthropy.
Do you write your own material or mainly covers? I write my own material.
What's good/bad with the band? It's all good. I need no one to do what I do and I have complete control over everything. I've nothing to complain about.
Do you have any webpages? All links and information can be found by visiting www.tinyurl.com/goeticrecords. All my music is also available there for free download. You can also follow the band on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/pages/Episcopal-Holocaust/199303526784387
What are your sources of inspiration?Im not sure what inspires me, but the day I stop feeling it is the day I quit. I still have much to do.
