Have you played in any band before? Yes, i played in a Punk , grunge and metal bands before.
What's your name? / Who plays what? / How old are you? We are Orphaned Land Kobi farhi 40 - lead vocal, Uri Zilkha 40 -bass, Idan Amsalem(me) 32 - guitar and bouzouki, Matan Shmuely 31 - drums, Chen Balbus 23 - guitar.
Have you had previous members? Yes there were a few line up changes.
Where are you from? Israel.
What year was started the band? 1990
What do you play music style? Oriental/ Folk / Middle Eastern Metal
What inspires you? The situation in the middle east and our roots, for instance we are all jewish coming from different places around the world and bringing our culture into our music.
Do you use earplugs when you appear? No, we have a old school attitude about the sound on stage, we like to feel the vibes from the drums, guitar amps and the crowd.
How have you evolved since you started with music? we get to a much larger crowed with each album that we released, and our message of peace is spreading as we keep touring non stop.
Do you have any other interests or jobs outside of the band and the music? yes, but all around music, Im a music producer I have recording studio, Im session player in alot of projects in Israel and I teach music in a few music schools.
Are you looking for the booking company, what are your thoughts and requirements around it then? we are already signed with Century Media.
Questions about your music and lyrics:
How will that you do music? we gather all of our ideas together and build our music like a puzzle.
What are your songs about the whole? Most of the lyrics its about the conflict between different people and religions , and with our music we have a success to bring different people from different religions and countries, for example : jews from Israel ,Muslims from Iran or Syria and Christian's , all of them in one metal concert, together , without politics just with fuckin heavy metal.
Who writes the lyrics? mostly Kobi write all the lyrics.
Who does the music? All of us together.
When you do a song, you start with the music or the lyrics? Mostly we start with the music.
In which environment do you usually do your songs? at our studio.
Do you play only original songs live and also covers? Most of the song is original and sometimes we play a old jewish ode in metal music like "Norra El Norra " and "El Meod Nala"
What language are you singing about? English, Hebrew, Arabic , Latin and ther is some versions of our songs in turkish.
Questions regarding your gigs and performances like:
How many have come at least to your concerts? וt depends on the venues we play at, sometimes we can play for thousands of people and sometimes small intimate acoustic shows.
How have you done or intend to do it to get more audience at your gigs? We just play our music and just be down to earth with our message of unity and our simple individuality.
Which age group drawn mostly to your concerts? There is no age limit in our shows .
Do you play always the same songs live or vary it? No, we allways change the setlist just a bit but we allways give the highlight to a new album or special occasion.
Do you have any ordinary place where you usually play? Every year in Hanukkah (Jewish holiday) there is a traditional show in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Have you had to adjust reached gig sometime? No, never.
Where have you been playing this year? This year 2016 we mostly played all over Europe and Israel.
Where do you have plans to play the rest of the year? Right now we working on the new album so in the rest of the year we will play in festivals and short tours.
Which countries have you played in? South America, North America, Jappan, Australia, China, all over Europe and Israel, over 40 countries.

When did you sell merchandise? In our shows and in our website.
What are your merchandise gadgets? T shirts, CDs, DVD, Vinyls, pendants and collector item's.

Questions about your views:
What do you think about downloading more music than buying CDs nowadays? I still believe that buying CDs and Vinyls has an added value but i also believe that its easier to get exposure thanks to the modern technology.
How to think and do you think the music industry has changed since they started downloading music? it has its good and bad sides, on one hand more people can reach your music and on the other hand its hard to make a living when everyone can download your music for free.
If you prefer downloaded music, cassette, CD or Vinyl? CD and Vinyl.
Those attending light and sound how much they have helped you really if you think about? When you come to see the show you want the full experience, the lights the music and the atmosphere.

What are your role models or idols? My personal idols were always Kurt Cobain, Ritchi Blackmore.
What do you think they are age limits on some concerts? it depends on the material that someone want to display.
Is it easier to draw inspiration from older bands than bands that are active today? Its always good to get inspiration from older bands and new bands in order to keep yourself up to date.
What has been conditioned biggest obstacles in the music industry? To do somthing that no one has done before.
What advice would you give to other bands and artists? Never give up on your dreams and always do what you feel is that is right for you.
How tags you up before a concert? Just basic warm up nothing to special.
