interview with Steve Van Dewark

Have any of you played in other bands? Yes, We both use to play with Twanan Turner , Ike Turners daughter
How is it that you started playing music? Both of us have been playing since we were 7 , 8 years old, always loved music

Have you had other previous members? Many, currently on the Album , Jerry Martini from Sly and the Family stone, And Howard Whales , used the play with Jerry Garcia, Steve Evans on Bass has played with many
Did you make music even when you were young? We both played  gigs doing original music as young as 15 , Had to have parents escort into the Bars to play, Keystone Berkerly when it was around
Where are you from? Both from California
What year did the band form? We have been together for 20 years on and off, Band started in 1999
What's your style of genre? Blues base rock and roll, Little R & B
What inspires you? So many , Stevie Ray, Dave Mathews, Led Zep, Yes, A lot of the oldies too many to list,
How often and where do you reherse? Weekly
Do you have other interests of work outside the band? Matt runs a music store , I am building a 170,000 sq ft custom home
Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? Yes we could use some help , Like to get a serious management company behind use,
Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? Love to get involved with the right Label, We both have been working hard to proved for our families but deep down always wanted to be musicians more, Like to be playing professionally and be able to afford to Live lol
What made you decide to make this music? Its always been our goal to get out and play more since our kids moved out , We have something to offer,

Do you start with the music or the lyrics? Usually the Music
Do you compose in a certain inviroment? In a Loft at the music store and some at the old rehearsal space I had in Calaifornia
Have you done any covers live? Yes  we have a few that we put our mark on,

What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs? HAHA 0 to 5000
What ages are most of your concert attendants? 30 +
Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? We try to make each show a little different
Do you have a regular place you play live often? No, use to but last year we have been finishing up the album and working different states,
What was your first gig like? Great!!, We always have a great time playing , That’s what kept Mat and I playing ,..
What was your latest gig? Last gig was at the Downtown blues festival in Vacaville, Then we went to the studio to record, Took a year because we both work a lot of hours, WE are both self Employeed
Have you had to cancel a gig? Never, Played the Omni  wnehn it was around with the Flue, I think it cured me
Where have you played live this year? Studio this year , nothing live yet, We want to create a tour with descent gigs,
Where do you plan to gig the comming year? Colorado, California, New York
When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? Nothing yet, CDS , Hats  Tshirts, working that out
Where can people buy your merchandise? I Tunes , Reverb Nation, Working on Spotify
What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? Probably more down loads but there are still the diehard record people out there,
How do you think the music industry have changed because of this? Not sure that I know the industry well enough to answer that,
What do you think of my work? Not sure,…What do you mean by that?
How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? WE don’t know but always interested in pursuing anything that has to do with music, Our 2019 mark, Time for us to make the move and get back out in the World of music,
Do you have any role models or idols? SO many for me Mat should answer that one,
Why do you think that they exist? More original, Unique styles, and great people behind them,
Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? Older bands , way more character and creativity. Now its more about the theatrics
What have been your biggest obstacles? Finishing the first album with bad help, LOL next is getting to the public, Getting it out there when you do the managing yourself, tons of hours , little return, Really need to find a manager that will have our same vision and goals ,
What advice would you give other bands or artists? Keep pushing , keep working , What you do with the things you are passionate about are unstoppable,
How do you get psyched for a gig? We meditate  and have a shot of bourbon LOL, Really a lot of mind meditation, quite time , and focus before we hit the stage,
Do you have any new material? Always working on new materials ,

What are your plans for the future? Keep Rockin!! Play music till the money runs out LOL
Do you have something to add? We worked 10 to 12 a day for the last 30 years , providing for our families and now that our kids are out on there own we want to make our mark in the music world , Share our passion, share the stage with other artists  and give back to the world in what ever way shape form we can,… Music is in our everyday thoughts!
