What are your names? / Who plays what? the name of the band is Dark Mourning and we are Chris/lead vocals Myke/lead guitar Matt/bass guitar and Chris/drums
Have you had other previous members? we actually just changed our drummer with Chris being our new kid
Where are you from? the band hails from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada
What year did the band form? in may of 2015
What's your style of genre? we are a hard rock/metal band in the vein of Godsmack,Stone sour...bands like that.
How often and where do you rehearse? we rehearse twice a week and we are lucky enough to rehearse where we record..Vambo sound productions
Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? we book ourselves locally...in 2016 we did a European tour and had some help booking that.
Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? we are not...for us we can accomplish what we want by ourselves
What are your songs about? everything and anything.....our newest upcoming releases are 7 songs each loosely based on a seven deadly sin
Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? Chris ...our vocalist
Do you start with the music or the lyrics? depends...sometimes there is a musical idea that sparks a song...and sometimes its a lyric or an overall idea
Have you done any covers live? yes...we love throwing in covers here and there its just a fun thing to do
What language do you sing in? English
What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs? we have played to mid sized festivals and 3 people in a club on a Tuesday night lol
What ages are most of your concert attendants? it depends where we play....locally we love doing all agers so the ages are all over the map
Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? we always mix our sets up
What was your first gig like? amazing...our first show was a headline slot at a local festival
Where do you plan to gig the coming year? just locally...we are gearing up for a new release and plan on Europe again in 2020
When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? we sold right off the bat...first show....we have all kinds of shirts,posters.cds everything
Where can people buy your merchandise? contact the band through our website or come to a show....all music is available through iTunes,spotify.cd baby...everywhere
How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? every interview we do is just 1 more way of someone hearing about us
Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? we all listen to everything...we draw inspiration from good music ..period
What have been your biggest obstacles? we have always overcame everything...nothing stands in our way
How do you get psyched for a gig? if you need to get amped up for a show there is something wrong....this is the reason we do music..to play it live and feed off that energy
Do you have any new material? we have a self titled EP..an EP entitled Warface and we are currently in the process of doing our seven deadly sins concept release
