Have any of you played in other bands? Oh yes, but in different unknown bands.
What are your names? / Who plays what? Tommy Söderström-vocal, Gert-Inge Gustafsson-guitar, Michael Lindman-guitar, Peter Fredriksson- Bass, Marcus Fritiofsson- drums.
Have you had other previous members? We’ve been around for a while so there have been other members but Tommy, Gert-Inge and Michael have been in the band all the time.
Where are you from? From Sweden and the towns Laholm and Markaryd.
What year did the band form? 1982
What's your style of genre? Hard Rock / Heavy Metal with roots from the 80’s.
What inspires you? A lot of things in life and of course good music.
Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? We are always looking for people that could help us and for the moment we don’t have a booking agency so yes we are. It’s a good thing because you can’t do everything on you own.
Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? Right now we are on Sliptrick Records who released our latest record BACK. If you are on a label hopefully they will do a lot to support the band.
What are your songs about? Mostly about having a good time but there are also songs with a bit deeper lyrical ideas
Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? Everyone is more or less involved in the composing. The lyrics is mostly written by Gert-Inge and Tommy.
Do you compose in a certain inviroment? No
Have you done any covers live? Yes we have done a few different covers.
What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs? As most bands we have done gigs with very few people and gigs with a big crowd.
What ages are most of your concert attendants? The kind of music we play seems to attract all ages, from 15 to 70.
Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? We try to vary live songs.
Do you have a regular place you play live often? No
What was your first gig like? Out very first gig in 1982 was a live radio broadcast which was a bit nervously but it all went very well.
What was your latest gig? It was a gig in Markaryd about one year ago. We haven’t been very active playing live because we have been focusing on our record.
Where have you played live this year? No live gigs this year.
When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? For the moment we don’t have any merchandise for sale.
Where can people buy your merchandise? When we have merchandise it will bee possible to buy it from our websight.
What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? That’s just how the music business are and as long people pay for the downloads it’s okay.
How do you think the music industry have changed because of this? It’s nearly impossible to earn any money on records so it’s hard for many bands to survive.
What do you think of my work? We think it’s great. Supporting music in one or another way is a good mission.
How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? It will help spreading the word about STEELWINGS.
Do you have any role models or idols? No, we just try to bee ourselves.
Why do you think that they exist? As a kid it’s natural to have someone or something to look up to and dream about.
Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? We find inspiration both from old and young bands.
What have been your biggest obstacles? Finding time to combine the band with other personal things in life.
What advice would you give other bands or artists? Bee honest and believe in what you do.
Do you have any new material? Yes and we will soon start recording for a new record.
