What´s the name of your band? Maya Over Eyes

How was the band formed? A bunch of high school friend going through it. Wanted to just make noise.

Can you tell about your band? Maya is from San Jose, South of the SF Bay Area in Northern California. We started as a 6 piece and went through some changes to solitify our new line up as a 4 piece. 

Where are all band members from?/Who does what in the band? 

Paco is from San Jose, CA- Vocals

Ozzy is from San Jose, CA- Bass Player

Edder is from Michoacan, Mx- Guitar Player

Mike is from Manteca, Ca - Drummer

What was the ambitions of the band when you started? Just to play in front of as many people as possible in as many cities anywhere around the word. 

Could you explain your music to someone that haven't heard you? Very fast, Bouncy, with heavy guitar riffs infused with metal and punk. That makes you want to pump iron.

Where was your first gig? In a auto body shop.

Where was the latest gig? Fresno, Ca at the China Youth Center.

Who writes your songs?/Who writes the music who writes lyrics? We all take part in the song writing process. Paco writes all the lyrics.

Who has the best since of humor in the band? Edder is the big jokester. But we all have a pretty hash sence of humor.  

What are your songs about? We try to incorperate out own struggles and experiences in our songs. 

Have you made any albums?/If yes what are they? 

Yes, two.

What year was the band started? 2004

Best/worst gig you've played? 

Best- Mexico summer of 2010

Worst- Augusta, GA there was a tornado and everything went to hell.

What places will you be playing in in the imidate future? Bakersfield CA, Phoenix AZ, Riverside CA

Witch band is the best you´ve seen? To many bands we’ve been able to see live to just choose one.

Is it always the same songs live? No, we switch it up for tours.

Have you had any bigger tours from start to now? The two biggest tours we have ever done is with First Blood in Mexico and Central America and Parkway Drive for a west coast tour.

What are the plans for the rest of the year? We are writing our third record and hope to hit the studio before the year ends.
