What is the name of your band? We're Unicornibot.  

What does the name "Unicornibot" stand for? It's something like a mix between an unicorn and a robot. Something beatiful and something mechanical and cold. 

How was the band formed? We played in some bands for separated and knew each other and wanted to try some crazy stuff

What made you form the band? We love to play. It's the thing we love the most in our life. 

Can you briefly introduce your band and who you are? We're four guys from Spain playing crazy music. 

Where are all bandmembers from?/Who does what in the band? Our town in Galicia (Northwest Spain) is called Pontevedra. Guillermo plays drums, Toño bass, and Gon and Alex play guitar. 

What was the ambitions of the band when you started? Playing live, all times we could, in every place which would be possible to go to. 

Could you explain your music to someone that haven't heard you? It's like a fast version of many styles you like, all of them mixed in a crazy way. 

Where was your first gig? It was in a friend house. 

Where was the latest gig? In Madrid, in a party of our label. 

Who writes your songs?/ who writes the music who writes lyrics? All of us do that. 

What's good/bad with the band?/What genre do you feel you are? We're not sure about the style we are. We love a lot of bands of many styles.

Why did you pick that particular style?/What are your songs about? There's not a logical thing into it. We just practise and play o lot and that thing comes around.

Have you made any albums?/If yes what are they? Yes, we have published three albums, Hare Krishna, Dalle! and Mambotron. https://dotheunicornibot.bandcamp.com/

How old are you?/What got you started in music? We've played for four years. 

At what age did you start playing? We're not sure, it was many years ago...

How old were you the first time you saw a liveband play? I'm not sure about my age but I'm sure I loved it from the first moment. 

What places will you be playing in in the imidate future? We're presenting our album now and playing around Spain, France and Portugal in many gigs this year. 

What songs are in your live set's? We play almost our catalogue.

Is it always the same set's live? No, we love to change! 

What has been the best/most promising gig so far? There was many great shows, one of them last weekend in Madrid. Playing is great, almost always.

How big crowds do you usually play for? It depend of the show, sometimes we play in little venues and other times in big festivals. 

What are the plans for the rest of the year? We're promoting our new album 

How do you get psyched up for a gig? We are always very nervous before a gig. We fight against it but we couldn't win for the moment.

What are your goals with your music? We just want to play a lot. 

When did you decide to go all in for the music? We have played in bands since a long time ago. Sincerely, I don't remember! 

Is it easier to get your inspiration from older bands or from bands more modern? We love old and modern bands, I think that's not very important thing. 

What are your sources of inspiration? Friends, bands, things we do.

What's the first step when making a new song? Playing the idea during a lot of time! 

How do you feel about the downloading of music instead of buying albums? I think it's a great thing for listeners and new little bands. For keeping the bands and labels publishing albums, I guess a better way to distribute the income of downloading for the responsibles of music to exist, would be great. 

Besides your own music, what genres and bands do you listen to? We love many genres: classic rock, math rock, hardcore, punk, screamo, pop, noise, jazzcore, free jazz, psycho, afrobeat...there's a lot of great music. 

What would be your greatest fears for the future? No fears, just fun.

When you are on stage, what do you fear most then? Only the police.

Have you been part of any other projects? We play in some other bands in our zone. Orquesta Metamovida, Mojo, Djalminha, etc. 

What would you do if there was no music? Going crazy 

How important are your fans? They keep this thing moving, so they and us are working for the same. 

What's the funniest/most memorable thing a fan has done for you? They make us very happy everyday when we see there's people on the shows.

How often do you rehearse? Not so much now for the jobs, but we use to rehearse like six or eight hours a week. 

Name 2 of your own songs you like at the moment? Mogollón and Todo Por El Bien Común, from Nueva Vulcano.

What do you feel is the best liveband you've seen? In my opinion (Toño) it was Mars Volta in 2009. 

What drives a band that isn't all that famous and renowned to try to make a living on their music and to keep playing? The same of the famous and renowned, I suppose. Something difficult to write about, but I think every musician feels it. 

Describe your show, visually and musically It's fast and loud.

How do you view the musicindurty of today? It's a nightmare. 

What advice would you like to give other bands? Do things. 

What are the biggest obstacles for a band? Everything is an obstacle: money, time, people... 

How would you describe your sound in one sentence Fast, loud, crazy.

Whats your Pre-show ritual? We play with an aluminium paper mask that we do in every show.

What Won't you spend money on? Drugs. 

What do you feel a band/muscian should spend their money on? Please get better amps!
