interview with Seventy Times Seven
What made you call the band "Seventy Times Seven"? The band is called "Seventy Times Seven" because of a verse in the bible. Matthew 18. 21-22. Saying: 21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me as seven times?"
Where was your first gig? Our first show was in 2009 in our city "Reef", in a small house which is called "Sabor de Pernambuco".
Where was the latest gig? Our last show was also in Recife, Mauricio de Nassau theater.
Who writes your songs?/ who writes the music who writes lyrics? I (Felipe) even write songs, all based on my beliefs and always trying to lead a strong message of hope to listeners.
Have you made any albums?/If yes what are they? At the moment the band has no cd and also has launched a project, just launched in 2011 the Ep called "The despair of Cain" and later this year we plan to launch a new Ep.
What year was the band started? The band started in 2009 with the name of 70x7. At first with a Screamo / post HC style.
What are the plans for the rest of the year? Plans for this year is to release another Ep and maybe a video clip.
Is it easier to get your inspiration from older bands or from bands more modern? Since the beginning our inspiration are current bands like The Devil Wears Prada, Attack Attack!, Emmure and etc..
What's the first step when making a new song? The first step to a new song of ours is always the letter, always start with the letter and then put the instrumental.
How do you feel about the downloading of music instead of buying albums? I think a great idea, and download music on the internet has helped a lot of bands that are starting.
How important are your fans? The importance of our fans is great, it's beautiful to see that group always goes to our shows, watch them singing at concerts then ... wow. They are what give us strength to continue.
What's the funniest/most memorable thing a fan has done for you? The funniest thing a fan did was ask for an autograph in panties
Name 2 of your own songs you like at the moment? Actually love all music, but I like most at the moment is "Never part.2" and "Prologue, the theory of the sower."
What advice would you like to give other bands? The advice I would give to other bands is that they make their own sound, its own identity and be steadfast in all that is done.
What are the biggest obstacles for a band? The biggest obstacles for a band is the devaluation and lack of patrocionio.
Whats your Pre-show ritual?I do not consider much of a ritual, but whenever I can I like to get a little alone minutes before going on stage.
