interview with Total Jävla Rännskita
Can you tell about your band? Total Jävla Rännskita was formed because me and another friend got an idea. We got an idea that we'll do music that you can laugh at, music with a special glimpse in the eye, and also to see if we could form a mew genre, called Crackcore.
Where are all band members from? Most of us are from Norrköping, Sweden. But some are from Nyköping.
Who does what in the band? We are a strange band. I think the whole band has made only One song together. Often we work on our own, because our songs have different structures. We take help from eachother to get different sounds and variety in the songs.
What was the ambitions of the band when you started? To have fun and to creat Crackcore!
Could you explain your music to someone that haven't heard you? Well. Not every song is good. Actually, many songs are pretty bad. But, we have to live up to our name, isnt that right? Our music is mostly instrumental. Most of the songs, that are "real" crackcore, takes inspiration from metal. Most of the drums have strong influences from Metal, but also disco and such. The rest of the music is like Skrillex on crack.
Where was your first gig? We've actually never played live!
Who writes your songs? As I said earlier, we work mostly on our own. The person who uses the most vocaltracks is Deejay Skalmann. He has done tunes such as Brevbärarn Leif, Moster Thomas and Misse Pugg. We also have some cooperatives, for example: Fucked Up Fuck, Infekterat Öga (the only song everyone has worked with) and Hagrids Berättelse.
Who has the best since of humor in the band? All the guys in the band has the same kind of humor!
What's good/bad with the band? That you can do whatever you want, as far as you keep the song in the "Crackcore genre".
What genre do you feel you are? There is no other genre to put us in than Crackcore.
Why did you pick that particular style? To see if it would establish and grow!
What are your songs about? Nothing at all really, since it doesnt have any real lyrics.
Do you write your own material or mainly covers? We have written everything ourselves, except that we borrowed som melodies or even put some audioclips of songs inte our, just for fun, like a joke.
Have you made any albums?/If yes what are they?
We have released 3 albums to date, but we're working on 3 more albums at the moment. The list is in order of release:

How old are you? Our youngest member is 13, the oldest is 18, which is me.
What got you started in music? We've always been interested of music!
At what age did you start playing? I dont now actually. But we started out as three members.
How old were you guys when you first stood on stage? Me and Timmy had a drumbattle summer 2012.
What year was the band started? 2011/2012.
Witch band is the best you´ve seen? Dream Theater is one of my favorite. Iron Maiden is very good too.
What has been the best/most promising gig so far? This interwiev actually. Feels awesome.
What are the plans for the rest of the year? To finish our upcoming album, Framtidsvision. It has a lot of new sounds and is more well made.
What are your goals with your music? To establish Crackcore!
When did you decide to go all in for the music? Dont know really.
Is it easier to get your inspiration from older bands or from bands more modern? Both actually!
What are your sources of inspiration? Since I'm a metalhead, my keyboardstuff isnt inspired by anything. But my drumming inspirations are Dave Lombardo, Mike Portnoy, Raymond Herrera and Gene Hoglan.
What's the first step when making a new song? Often making a melody with some keyboard-sound. It depends, the first thing that pops up in my head.
How do you feel about the downloading of music instead of buying albums? Dont know really. I dont think we're ever get a sold CD. We upload our music to Thepiratebay at the moment.
What would be your dreams for the band? Dont know!
Besides your own music, what genres and bands do you listen to? Mostly metal. Slayer, Dream Theater, Amon Amarth, Dark Funeral, Marduk. Yeah, and a lot more.
What do you hold most dear? My girlfriend and my drumming talent.
What would be your greatest fears for the future? Not to continue with music at all, or losing my girl!
What songs and what years were they released? We have a lot of songs, but our first three albums we're actually released the same year, 2013!
Have you been part of any other projects? I have an old Black/Death Metalband, which is on "standby" right now, so to speak, Vital Death.
I also have a new project, called Demons Of Decay, more of a Heavy Metalband. I also have a band called Bumbirockers with my dear friend Tomas.
Have you been in any other bands? Yes! Vital Death, Demons Of Decay and Bumbirockers.
What do you work with outside of the band and the music? I'm studying, and have plans to open up a petshop.
What would you do if there was no music? Problaby build computers and own a petstore!
How important are your fans? They are very important!
What's the funniest/most memorable thing a fan has done for you? A guy called me at school and told me he listened to our music while he was feeling bad in his stomach. Also when he was taking a dump. That was funny as hell.
How often do you rehearse? We don't do that really.

What drives a band that isn't all that famous and renowned to try to make a living on their music and to keep playing? Passion!

What advice would you like to give other bands? Well. The same as I said above.
What are the biggest obstacles for a band? To get the music out I guess.
