What´s the name of your band? Abulafia
How was the band formed? We were in an another band, after some years of stand by, passed by without playing we decided to change direction doing something different. We’ve approached to electronic music in Frunkfurt by visiting the Musik Messe in 2011.
Can you tell about your band? This is an electronic music project band, started in spring 2013. We use synth,Virtual Instruments, drum machine mixed with the voice. It’s just a way to express our messages.
Where are all band members from?/Who does what in the band?
We come from Taranto, Puglia, South of Italy.
Fabry: voice
Larry: synth, Vst, e-programmer, author and composer.
What was the ambitions of the band when you started? We just wanted to make something different…we’d like to be appreciate by people over our country.
Could you explain your music to someone that haven't heard you? Ok we try. Our sounds reminds new wave atmosphere of 80’s..we give all songs a philosophical meaning and so our lyrics tackles different issues like introspection and our music is the way to have an inner sight.
Who writes your songs?/ who writes the music who writes lyrics? All songs are written and composed by Larry Oz.
Who has the best since of humor in the band? Fabry has the best sense of humor..it’s a funny and at the same time serious person..
What's good/bad with the band?/What genre do you feel you are? we don’t like label, but we think to be a bit dark…anyway there’s no a peculiar genre in which we identify ourself.
Why did you pick that particular style?/What are your songs about? We are interested in to philosophical and esoteric matter and our songs talks about the dark sides of human being.
Do you write your own material or mainly covers? No covers.
Have you made any albums?/If yes what are they? We made an Ep titled Ego, in February 2013
Do you have any clips on YouTube? Not yet..maybe in the nearly future..
How old are you?/What got you started in music? Larry is 42 and fabry is 36.
At what age did you start playing? When we were young..about 16 years old.
How old were you guys when you first stood on stage? 18 years old.
What year was the band started? 2013.
Where have you played from then till now? Around Italy when we were in an another band..
Which band is the best you´ve seen? Pink Floyd…
Have you had any bigger tours from start to now? Not yet..
How big crowds do you usually play for? We like most playing in small clubs..
What are the plans for the rest of the year? We are working on the next Ep..
How do you get psyched up for a gig? With just few minutes of meditation…and a long drink!
Is it easier to get your inspiration from older bands or from bands more modern? It’s easier to get inspiration from older bands by using modern technologies.
What are your sources of inspiration? Literature mainly.
How do you feel about the downloading of music instead of buying albums? It can be a problem only for the big bands, we don’t care about it..if many people download our music it means we like them…and that’s good for us..
Besides your own music, what genres and bands do you listen to? Rock, metal, gothic, classic music..
What songs and what years were they released? 5 songs was released in February 2103…
Have you been part of any other projects? Actually Larry is part of a progressive music project.
Have you been in any other bands? We’ve been in an electronic-rock band called Ragion Pura, Fabry was the singer and Larry was the bass player.
What do you work with outside of the band and the music? Larry work for the Navy, and Fabry in the air conditioners business.
What would you do if there was no music? Every sound in the universe is music..if there wasn’t music, it’s probably because we would be all deaf…it would be terrible..
How important are your fans? Our fans are the most important thing, they give us energy, resources and strength.
Name 2 of your own songs you like at the moment? L’Egocentrica and The Mask.
What do you feel is the best live band you've seen? Rammstein!!!
What drives a band that isn't all that famous and renowned to try to make a living on their music and to keep playing? when an artist is born, he always try to express himself and the top of the pleasure he can feel, he can reach it becoming famous but it’s not so easy..
the most important thing is feeling free and express ourself in the way we can, without compromises.

How do you view the musicindurty of today? Everything is merchandise, they try to do their best to reach money and we are just a medium…
What advice would you like to give other bands? Present your music, sell your music but never sell off your music.
What are the biggest obstacles for a band? Each one of us is the biggest obstacles for a band…so we have to be honest, we must respect the other members, and never feel God on earth.
How would you describe your sound in one sentence Sounds and words in evolution…
Whats your Pre-show ritual? Well…we see each other, we spell magical words that I cannot tell and drink..
