What year did the band form? Pilsen Drinkers was born in the summer of 2004

What's your style of genre? Before it was some kind of thrash/speed metal, now we define ourselves as thrash/groove metal, it's heavier.

What inspires you? Beer and moshing.

How often and where do you reherse? We try to rehearse when we van and as many time as necessary, generally 2-3 times each month. We don't rehearse much because we work, and some of us study.

How have you developed since you started with the music? We have developed a lot, in the way we play, the technique, the compositions, all that has been influenced in each stage of the band, since there has been a lot of people.

Do you have other interests of work outside the band? Diego is studying electronics, Michael is finishing his bachelor's degree in music and works. Amador is finishing his bachelor's degree in history and works, and Rodrigo has been working for 10 years.

Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? Not at the moment, Rodrigo is in charge of contacts, gigs, interviews, ect. If it's necessary for somebody to take care of that, since being in a band is not only about playing music, it's also about looking for your own place to show your music, that's the point.

Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? We have been looking for a label, but there are no interests yet, if the opportunity presents itself, we'll take it, but it's not a priority, since we're still making music independently.

What made you decide to make this music? The passion for music.

What are your songs about? Mosh, beer, holocaust, ect.

Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? Diego does the lyrics and composing, while Rodrigo makes the musical base in his drums. Now everyone is composing the music.

Do you start with the music or the lyrics? Both.

Do you compose in a certain inviroment? No, only when inspiration arrives.

Have you done any covers live? Yes, when we started playing we did many covers of Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, Exodus, Anthrax, Demolition Hammer, Testament, ect.

What language do you sing in? In spanish and english.

What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs? We don't know very well, there have been times where many people come as few people come in others, but the principal thing is that there's always moshing.

What ages are most of your concert attendants? There's every kind, we think that there's no age needed to listen to ourband, Whoever likes it be welcome.

Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? We play 4 songs from the EP and 9 songs that are coming out this year, it's 13 songs total, but it also depends on the time you're assigned at the show.

Do you have a regular place you play live often? Yes, generally we play at Pub Duna in the city of Coquimbo, we have also been in the Sociedad de Artesanos in La Serena. We were also in Ovalle a few years back.

What was your first gig like? Lots of chaos with mosh, Lots of stage diving and beer.

What was your latest gig? Last friday 7th of July in Pub Duna in Coquimbo.

Have you had to cancel a gig? No never, even when we were playing the EP "Controlado por el Odio" (Controlled by Hate) both of our guitars were stolen, the bass, and the EP copies in 2007 in the event "Revenge of the Empire" in Sociedad de Artesanos in La Serena, but we played anyway with borrowed instruments.

Where have you played live this year? Only in Coquimbo.

Where do you plan to gig the comming year? Wherever it's possible and we get invited to, but there are conversations to go to Valparaiso, Antofagasta, and even go to the neighbour country Perú, but nothing is set in stone, we're just waiting.

When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? In thismoment we don't have merchandise, but the lastest thing were patches with the logo, but this year we have a new album coming out.

Where can people buy your merchandise? We haven't started selling yet, but you can download our EP "Controlado por el Odio" via www.soundcloud.com/pilsen-drinkers-chile, it's 4 songs, and you can listen to advances of the upcoming album.

What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? It's okay to download music, that helps you to know new bands, you couldn't do that before, you just had to trade cassettes or when you borrowed a CD and recorded it.

How do you think the music industry have changed because of this? The potency, there are few people like me that buy the CD or the original cassette, yet the industry can still win money with gigs, merchandise, ect.

What do you think of my work? It's a good initiative to get to know new bands.

How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? We don't know, when we get to play at sweden we'll talk about it, hahaha.

Do you have any role models or idols? No, just the influence of thrash in the streets.

Why do you think that they exist? Can you repeat the question? hahaha.

Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? The inspiration comes from every member, we always try to see both the new and the old.

What have been your biggest obstacles? We think our biggest obstacle has been the death of one of our members that left the band in pause, Rodrigo Juica (bass) suffered a cerebrovascular stroke that took his life, but that's just part of life, and life goes on.

What advice would you give other bands or artists? Keep on playing, making music brings great passion and satisfaction.
