What´s the name of your band? Archaic Disease
How was the band formed? Archaic Disease was formed when founding members and brothers Noah Beckthold and Drew Beckthold decided to record a few demo songs. From there we recorded a full length album.
What can you tell us about your band? We are 4 brothers that fuse many styles of metal. Classic Death Metal, Modern Deathcore, Melodic Death Metal, Symphonic Metal, Progressive Metal, Black Metal and so on.
Where are all band members from?/Who does what in the band?
We all grew up in a small town called Powell River, on the West Coast of British Columbia, Canada. All the member currently live there except for Drew who lives in Nanaimo, British Columbia.

What was the ambitions of the band when you started? We wanted to make music inspired by the various styles of music we enjoy.
Could you explain your music to someone that hasn't heard you? The roots of our music are Death Metal with a bunch of other styles on top. Very dark and very heavy both lyrically and musically.
Who writes your songs?/ who writes the music who writes lyrics? For our debut release “Compulsive Lies, Repulsive Truths” Noah handled Vocals and the majority of lyrics. Drew wrote and recorded all the music and also contributed some lyrics. Since then Shane and Ryan have joined the band and currently we all contribute music/ lyrics/concepts towards new music.
What are your songs about? Our songs have many different concepts and inspirations. There are some very sinister themes but also some positive messages. Some songs evoke hopefulness while others provoke hopelessness.
Have you made any albums? We independently released a full length album “Compulsive Lies, Repulsive Truths” Which is available for free download on our Bandcamp page.

What year was the band started? 2014
What are the plans for the rest of the year? The 4 of us are currently in pre-production for our next release. We intend to release our second album by the end of the year.
What are your sources of inspiration? Chaos, Struggles, Intolerance, Justice, Astrology, Demons, Paranormal
What's the first step when making a new song? Most of the time we start by coming up with a catchy riff or writing a lyrical hook. We prefer to work on lyrics and music concepts simultaneously so they become one cohesive entity.
How do you feel about the downloading of music instead of buying albums? Buying music is always better for the artists. Although, even if you are successful enough to sell a lot of records your label will be taking majority of the profits back from you. This is why we decided to release our album for free. More people heard it and thats all we cared about.
What would be your dreams for the band? The dream for this band is to continue making and releasing music without financially crippling ourselves.
Besides your own music, what genres and bands do you listen to? We all prefer many styles of metal ranging from Death Metal, Deathcore, Industrial, Progressive, Symphonic, Grind and more.
Have you been part of any other projects? Our guitarist Shane Beckthold is the lead vocalist for the Melodic Death Metal band Bleed for Vengeance
Name 2 of your own songs you like at the moment?
What are the biggest obstacles for a band? Currently the biggest challenge is writing new music while some members live in different cities. There are currently a lot of demo recordings and lyrics going back and forth between all of us.
