How is it that you started playing music? We all started out of pure curiosity

Have you had other previous members? Yes, Angel Eater. He was our drummer from January 2013 until May 2014.
Did you make music even when you were young? We are still very young!
Where are you from? Enschede, Netherlands

What's your style of genre? 80’s Thrash Metal
What inspires you? Life, nature and people
How often and where do you reherse? Once a week in our rehearsal room
How have you developed since you started with the music? We’ve all grown a lot individually in both instument and songwriting
Do you have other interests of work outside the band? No
Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? At the moment we are talking to a few to consider collaboration. We think that with a good agency,
the bigger venues and festivals are more within reach.
Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? We’re not searching at the moment, but are open for contact and proposals for our second album.
What made you decide to make this music? Laurens H, Frank R, and Angel Eater (our former drummer), allways wanted to play in a thrash
metal band but couldn’t find the right musicians to do so. When we started DISTILLATOR, it was the
first time we were actually playing the music we like so much. With this band we want to work our
way to the top of the European metal scene.
What are your songs about? Violence, war, terrorism, freedom, death
Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? The band composes the songs and the lyrics are written by Laurens.
Do you start with the music or the lyrics? Mostly the music is written first.
Do you compose in a certain inviroment? Yes, at home next to our guitar amp or in the rehearsal room.
Have you done any covers live? Yes, Black Magic by Slayer
What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs? I think we had as much as 3 people at a gig once. The promotor didn’t promote anything and therewere a lot of other parties and concerts going on. The most was about 1000 people when weplayed in Finland, back in 2013.
What ages are most of your concert attendants? Between 18 and 50
Do you have a regular place you play live often? Our rehearsal room
What was your first gig like? Horrible!
What was your latest gig? Fucking awesome!
Have you had to cancel a gig? Yes, because Frank had an infection in his lower jaw and couldn’t play a show.
Where have you played live this year? Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Spain
Where do you plan to gig the comming year? Europe
When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? We allways had merch since the founding of the band. Our merch consists of: CD, LP, tape, t-shirts,hoodies, longsleeves, patches, buttons etc.

What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records nowadays? It sucks, but unfortunately you can’t help it. The best is to play a lot of shows and sell your merch
there.
How do you think the music industry have changed because of this? It’s getting harder and harder to get a good label to release your album because people aren’t
buying that much anymore.
What do you think of my work? Awesome job
Do you have any role models or idols? Not any specifically. We are influenced by a lot of different bands.
Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? I think it doesn’t matter, but we’d like to get our inspiration from the roots of metal.
What advice would you give other bands or artists? Work around the clock
How do you get psyched for a gig? Always
