Have any of you played in other bands? Yes we all played in otherbands. But the three of us(Alper,Özgür and Tolga) have been playing together for a long time. Since 2007
What are your names? / Who plays what? Alper Antmen(guitars and lead vocals) Barış Güvenenler(electric cello) Özgür Devrim Akçay(drums and backing vocals) Tolga Öztürk(bass and backing vocals)
Have you had other previous members? Yes we had. When we started Kırkbinsinek there was Tuncay Korkmaz playing guitar and syhnts. And when Özgür was in another city for a while Cenk Akkaya playeddrums for 6 months.
Did you make music even when you were young? Yes we all made music when we were younger.
Where are you from? We are from İstanbul Turkey.
What year did the band form? We were formed in 2008.
What's your style of genre? Basicly we play psychedlic rock. But we are influenced by progressive rock and mainly Anotolian Rock of late sixties and seventies
How have you developed since you started with the music? At the start we were playing more progressive tunes. But in time our music evolved in more psychedlic.
What made you decide to make this music? It's about the influation. We were listening this genre and we made our sound in this way.
What are your songs about? Some of our songs are about the social injustice in our country and also in the world. And some of our songs are about the feelings of what nature makes us feel. And of course what we live in our personal lives.
Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? We compose our songs all together.
Do you start with the music or the lyrics? It differs from song to song. We can say it both.
Have you done any covers live? We used to do in the past but we don't now
Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? We are making a set list differs from concert to concert.
Do you have a regular place you play live often? Mostly we play at Peyote,İstanbul
What was your first gig like? It was very exciting. We played at Peyote, İstanbul and people were very interested in our music.
What was your latest gig? It was beautiful.We played in Berlin at Zukunft. Everybody was having fun and that made us very happy.
Where have you played live this year? This year we had concerts in İstanbul, İzmir(Turkey) and Würzburg, Berlin(Germany)
Where do you plan to gig the comming year? We are planning to make a tour in Europe.
