What´s the name of your band? Nocheni
How was the band formed? Five friends in their teenage gathered to play some music
Where are all band members from?/Who does what in the band?
All the members are from Vigo and Redondela
Juanín : vocals and keyboards
David: guitar
Xoel: drums
Nacho: guitar
Juanchi: bass guitar
What was the ambitions of the band when you started? We just wanted to have a good time doing what we liked the most
Could you explain your music to someone that haven't heard you? We play metal music but we have our own style. Even someone who doesn´t enjoy this kind of music will enjoy what we do.
Where was your first gig? August 1996 Vigo
Where was the latest gig? Our last gig was amazing. After a long time we played again in our hometown. It was crowded. We felt very special
Who writes your songs?/ who writes the music who writes lyrics? We all compose the music in the rehearsal room then Juanín writes the lyrics
Who has the best since of humor in the band? There´s no doubt Xoel has the best sense of humour. He´s always joking.
Why did you pick that particular style?/What are your songs about? Our music is about people´s feelings and everyday situations.
Do you write your own material or mainly covers? We write our own songs

We have already recorded three albums

At what age did you start playing? We all started at the age of 18 more or less
How old were you guys when you first stood on stage? We were 19
What year was the band started? 1996
Best/worst gig you've played? Best gig was in Oporto as opening band for UDO There’s no worst gig. We love playing no matter where
What places will you be playing in in the imidate future? We are currently writing material for the new album
Where have you played from then till now? We have played more than a hundred concerts in Spain and Portugal
Witch band is the best you´ve seen? We all loved seeing Dream Theater live but it’s hard to choose one band. Metallica or Iron Maiden were also great shows.
Is it always the same songs live? No, We change the set list in every concert. We have lots of songs to choose
What has been the best/most promising gig so far? We are really proud of opening for some of our musical heroes like Testament
How big crowds do you usually play for? We play for big crowds in festivals and that’s great but we also enjoy playing in small clubs in which the feeling with the audience is essential
What are the plans for the rest of the year? We aim to record a new album
Where do you usually play? We usually play in festivals and in clubs throughout Spain and Portugal
How do you get psyched up for a gig? We see as a big party. We are always willing to start. It’s easy to get psyched to do what you like the most.
What are your goals with your music? We wish we could spend as much time as possible making music and make people’s life better with it
When did you decide to go all in for the music? When you are a child and you see and listen to your music heroes
Is it easier to get your inspiration from older bands or from bands more modern? Inspiration comes from everywhere. From older or modern bands but also from things that happen in your life
What's the first step when making a new song? We usually start with the music. It may be a powerful reef or any other idea. Then we write the lyrics
What would be your dreams for the band? Keep on playing
Besides your own music, what genres and bands do you listen to? Everything related to rock and heavy metal
When you are on stage, what do you fear most then? We hate it when any electronic supply or sth doesn’t work
Have you been part of any other projects? We all had previous bands before
What do you work with outside of the band and the music? We all have jobs that let us tour and play live
What would you do if there was no music? I would die
How important are your fans? They mean everything to us. Their support makes us go on
How often do you rehearse? Twice a week

What drives a band that isn't all that famous and renowned to try to make a living on their music and to keep playing? Fans and their support makes us keep playing

Whats your Pre-show ritual? We have a few funny songs that we sing together before going on stage
