interview with NORTHANGER

Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? Once we'll have the album in hands a booking agency will become a necessity to have decent gigs, yeah.

Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? I'm really asking myself how to sell and share it to the world with today's technology, but i will consider any offers from labels.

What made you decide to make this music?  The fact that we're born for this and it's a real passion and dream to play for big venues.

What are your songs about?

For this album it's about personal thoughts, what we feel about war, relationships... We have the song ''Schizophrenia'' talking about someone fighting illness... It's a variety of themes and moods that compose humanity.

Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? I'm writing music and lyrics for this album, i always wanted to do that without thinking about waiting for someone.

Do you start with the music or the lyrics? Sometimes it's a beat drum or a riff or a vocal line and with lyrics too.

Do you compose in a certain environment? Anywhere i feel it i'm writing it.

Have you done any covers live? Yes we did it at a young age.

What language do you sing in? English only.

What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs? Only music lovers.

What ages are most of your concert attendants? In festivals all ages are allowed, it depends when and where.

Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? The set list is always changing.

What was your first gig like? It was cool, a Rockfest in a Motocross event.

Where do you plan to gig the coming year?In Canada or other countries i don't know but we'll start here.

When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale?It will be effective soon for our first album, we will sell albums, t-shirts and other stuff like that in a website.

What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? I think we have to face it, it's the actual reality, music industry is dying by these actions.

How do you think the music industry have changed because of this? It's like taking money in musician's pockets, it's a lot of work stolen. We have to get a better deal about royalties, that's the only solution for musicians right now.

What do you think of my work?  Great work, don't give up you will get what you want, sometime it's long but go on.

How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? We have something unique like other bands and if we can obtain a bigger audience it's already a good thing.

Do you have any role models or idols? In heavy metal the Big Four is a great example of models, heavy metal always been a little bit ignored but they are the proof that it's not.

Why do you think that they exist?  Good songs and business, perseverance, talent...

Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today?  It's a blend of what you like in all genres that make you hear your own music.

What have been your biggest obstacles?  Waiting for serious musicians..

What advice would you give other bands or artists?  Don't let it go, do it and be confident.

How do you get psyched for a gig? Adrenaline, audience, energy, music..
What are your web sites? For now we have a facebook page NORTHANGER and on Youtube at  Northangerband we only have demos of songs beeing part or not of our debut album.

What are your plans for the future? An official website, working on a second album in 2017, play gigs and share our music.

Do you have something to add?  I would like to thank you and fans too, we love you see you on tour.
