Leslaw: My first group before Komety was Partia. Actually Partia evolved into Komety having relaesed three studio albums. 

So it is safe every musician who has ever been in Komety including myself has played in another group before.  

How is it that you started playing music? I started writing songs at the age of 12. I got my first guitar a year later and started the first incarnation of Partia when I was 15.  

What are your names? / Who plays what? / How old are you?

Riczmond -  bass, voice

Have you had other previous members? Komety have had very many  line up changes. Too many previous members to mention in one interview. 

Did you make music even when you were young? I started writing when I was 12 before I could actually play any instrument. 
Where are you from? Komety are from Warsaw, Poland.  

What year did the band form? Partia formed in 1993 and was replaced by Komety 10 years later.  

What's your style of genre? It's difficult to descibe. The music we play is very characteristic. We call it Komety Music.  

What inspires you? A lot of things but mainly life in a big city and city architecture.  

How often and where do you reherse? We usually reherse only before concerts. We play in the basement of an institution located not far from whrere we live. 

How have you developed since you started with the music? It has been a constant evolution since the day we started. It's our aim to make every album different than the previous ones. 

Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? We have been on Thin Man Records for about 5 years now and we are extremely happy to be working with them! They are all a good record company should be.  

What made you decide to make this music? It was never really a concious decision. 
What are your songs about? Mainly about various aspects of loneliness. 
Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? I write both.  

Do you start with the music or the lyrics? It depends. In most cases it's simultanious:  

Do you compose in a certain inviroment? Usually while walking through the city streets. 
Have you done any covers live? Yes we have. Songs originally performed by Del Shannon,  Kraftwerk, The Clash, The Ramones  to name but a few. 

What language do you sing in? Mainly in Polish. Two of our albums "Via Ardiente" and "Akcja V1" were recorded in both Polish and English versions.  

What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs?
Least - 3 people 

Most - 700 000  

What ages are most of your concert attendants? All ages which we find very fortunate. 
Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? Every concert is different. That adds to the excitement!

What was your latest gig? A couple of days ago we played at the Robrege Festival in Warsaw. A very memorable night!  

What do you think of my work? We admire your work!  

Do you have any new material? We are currently recording a new album entitled "Alfa Centauri". Our ambition is to record the best Komety album ever.
