interview with Undermess
Have any of you played in other bands? We all have played in different bands before starting this band. Phil, Keith & David were actually in the same metal band prior to starting Undermess.
How is it that you started playing music? We pretty much all started playing music around the age of 14-15
What are your names? / Who plays what? / How old are you?
Phil – 26 – Vocals/guitar
David – 25 – Guitar
Antoine – 27 – Bass
Keith – 24 - Drums
Where are you from?Montreal, Canada
What year did the band form? The band formed in 2014, we worked on the project for 2 years before making it official to the public in September of 2016
What inspires you? Pretty much the world around us, our daily lives & past experiences
Have you done any covers live? Yes! We include a few covers in our show but try to change it up! The covers aren't identical to the original track
What language do you sing in? English
What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs? Least is probably around 40 and most would be 900
What was your first gig like? Our first gig was in a highschool, it was pretty nuts they presented us on stage and the kids started screaming before we even got on stage.
What was your latest gig? Our last show was at a venue called Club Soda. The place was sold out and the crowd was wild! So far the best show we played in front of 900 people.
What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? We really don't care how you get your music, just make sure you check your favorite bands live and buy some merch off of them!
What advice would you give other bands or artists? Never give up, work as hard as you can and love what you do
Do you have any new material? Between you and me, we have some songs that will be coming out pretty soon , but shhhh.
