interview with Alpha Proxy

Have any of you played in other bands? quite a few, most were when i was a teen and just getting started. Tacit was my first band, started with the drummer/vocalist from hellbroths son it was like loose death metal with a prog feel and lots of improvisation. the second band was a grindcore band called exhume the martyr. then a band called viscera that was like progressive rock but never saw the light of day. i just formed an industrial metal band in the vein of godflesh, the body, neurosis, amenra, etc i also have an acousic album thats going to get recorded pretty soon as well
How is it that you started playing music? i was always around music as a kid and always was fascinated with dark intense music. i guess it was inevitable that i found this path in life.
What are your names? / Who plays what? / How old are you? josh parrish-6 string electric guitar/composition lee fisher-drums sean parrish-12 string siebold touchstyle guitar me and sean are twin brothers so we are both 28. im not sure lee's age
Have you had other previous members? no
Did you make music even when you were young? i started at 14 when my friend from highscool that had a start let me come over and jam on it after school. we were into punk and thrash and i really got into "guitar shredders" that inspired me to play.

What year did the band form? 2015
What's your style of genre? instrumental metal/other
What inspires you? art, existence,my family and friends, overcoming struggles, other artists, perseverance, dedication, life's mysteries
How often and where do you rehearse? we are all currently working on learning our parts so we can get the album recorded. i just started a new bands called fractured self with a local drummer and we rehearse in my room
How have you developed since you started with the music? it started out as me messing around on guitar pro trying to write music that was through composed, thematic and following the angular technical aggressive styles ive come to love
Do you have other interests of work outside the band? im very interested in entheogens and the work of people like terence mckenna. art isnt just a hobby for me. life and art are one in the same as far as i am concerned. when im not listening to music or writing/playing music im usually either working or hanging out with my wife and kids. im very interested in the occult/esoteric stuff. i love film and good tv(which is basically film) and reading when i get the time.
Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? as far as alpha proxy,  we are all in other bands so its going to probably take a while before we are actually ready to play shows

What are your songs about? everything from my battles with addiction to deep insights about the nature of reality to cheeky stabs at dumb people. its really all over the place and open to interpretation in alot of ways
Who does the composing? we are instrumental, i compose all the songs
Do you compose in a certain inviroment? i compose directly from my mind to computer. i cant write with my guitar in hand very well. i just end up noodling or messing around with alt tunings and writing in a different way that wouldnt fit alpha proxy
What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? i think its fine honestly. for me its always been about music. as long as i get to make my music im happy
