interview with Sin Circus

Have any of you played in other bands?
 
Yes we all have played in other bands, Luke used to be in The Lost Archives, Empress, The New Entendre, Ska Light, Captain Caveman, to name a few
Vicky was in a band called Hallowed, and Alpha State of Mind
Luis was in CSOD, Metaleeka and Knighthood
Jake was in Olympus in Ruins
How is it that you started playing music? Through exposure from family members and friends. 
What are your names? / Who plays what? / How old are you?
Vicky - Singer - 35
Luis - Guitar - 42

Luke - Drums - 28
Have you had other previous members? Yes a few, we have had Jonathan Osbourne, Dan Davies, Chris Phelan, Kieran Thornton, Kyle Wilson, Kyle Worrall
Did you make music even when you were young? Always from the age of 9 I myself (Luke) have always played some instrument or another. 
Where are you from? Blackpool in the UK
What year did the band form? 2015

What's your style of genre? Conceptual Metal
What inspires you? This is a vague question, here is a vague answer, EVERYTHING
How often and where do you reherse? A place called the Unit once a week
How have you developed since you started with the music? Personally, a lot, as a band immensely. We have grown and changed the original style of our music and formed a unique distinctive sounds. 
Do you have other interests of work outside the band? Of course many, myself and vicky volunteer and work with a local charity, luis does artwork and jake is a photographer.

Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? We are, it would release some of the pressure from us for booking. 
Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? We are, It again would release some pressure from us, meaning we could focus on the music and be able to get our music further out there. 
What made you decide to make this music? This music is fun and entertaining, it relates to each of us and we love it. 
What are your songs about? Many things, the songs are loosely or directly based on Sin, the 7 deadly Sins as laid out in Dantes inferno, Greed, Wrath, Gluttony, Pride, Envy, Lust, Sloth.
Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? We all compose the music and Vicky writes the lyrics
Do you start with the music or the lyrics? Usually the music but it hasnt stopped a few happening the other way round. 

Do you compose in a certain inviroment? Usually in the rehearsal room. 
Have you done any covers live? Yes but no longer, we are an originals band and we stick to this. 
What language do you sing in? English mainly though vicky throws in  some Japanese occasionally.
What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs? the least was 1, the most would be somewhere near 400 (It was a tattoo convention)

What ages are most of your concert attendants? All ages, metal music is very accessable and invites people of all walks of life. 
Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? We play sets based on what product we are promoting at that time, so we played our EP Bored when we were selling this and will gig our full album later this year.
What was your first gig like? It was fun, a rousing success and a great night for all. 

What was your latest gig? Grand Central in Manchester
Have you had to cancel a gig? Yes
Where have you played live this year? Nowhere yet
Where do you plan to gig the comming year?
Manchester, Burnley, Blackpool, Lancaster, Bolton, Glasgow and a few other places
When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? When we released our EP and we sell badges, tshirts, personal dolls, eps

What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? It's a great way to get music on the go and a great way to expose yourself to new music with ease. DOWNLOAD OUR EP from Amazon!!!
How do you think the music industry have changed because of this? The music industry has suffered because of illegal downloads, and I think the artists may have suffered also because of this, it's harder to make money on the digital royalties.
What do you think of my work? I think it is great that you are exposing this many bands in this way.

Do you have any new material? Our latest material will be on our Album, VII which is being released later this year!
