interview with Rebirth

Have any of you played in other bands?
Tristan - Before Rebirth, no
Landon - Yeah, I played in a band called Hidden Voices before Rebirth
How is it that you started playing music?
T - My brother taught me how to play basic guitar when I was 10, and from then on I was hooked
L - I heard ACDC on the radio when I was 5, and my grandpa bought me my first guitar when I was 6
What are your names? / Who plays what? / How old are you?
T - My name is tristan, I'm 22 and I sing and play bass
L - My name is Landon, I'm 21 and I play guitar and scream
Have you had other previous members? Yeah, unfortunately our vocalist just recently left
Did you make music even when you were young?
T - I started writing when I was around 13
L - It's been so long that I don't even remember
Where are you from? The band is based out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
What year did the band form? We formed in June of 2017
What's your style of genre? Metallic Hardcore
What inspires you? Bringing together our community and making the best music we can
How often and where do you reherse? We rehearse once or twice a week at our close friends parents house
How have you developed since you started with the music? We've hit a few bumps, but we've been gaining an astonishing amount of ground in our community. We're almost finished our debut EP
Do you have other interests of work outside the band?
T - I like watching sports and snowboarding
L - I enjoy sports and art
Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? At this point, no. But Along the line we would be interested
Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? It's a goal of ours, but it's not on the top of our list
What made you decide to make this music? The drive to create something bring our community together to have as much fun as possible
What are your songs about? Things such as anger, depression, and corruption. We also write about what makes us happy. We basicaly just write what we feel and you can definitely hear it when you listen to our songs
Who does the composing and writes the lyrics?
T - We kind of all write the lyrics to the songs and everyone writes their own parts musically
L - Like Tristan said, we all contribute to the lyical writing process. Musically I will sit down and write a song and guita, bring it to the guys and it just comes to fruition
Do you start with the music or the lyrics? We always start with the music
Do you compose in a certain enviroment? No, not really. If the inspiration for music comes we will stop and write 
Have you done any covers live? Yes! We play A Prophecy by Asking Alexandria and Deadbeat by our friends in HEFT from North Carolina
What language do you sing in? English
What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs? we've played for the other bands on the bill, and we've also played full venues
What ages are most of your concert attendants? It varies, but usually do to legal age restrictions our crowd is 19-30
Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? We vary occasionally, but it's pretty consistent
Do you have a regular place you play live often? We play at the Black Cat Tavern in Saskatoon often, but we've played at the other large venues in the city as well as a few venues in other provinces
What was your first gig like? At our first show we played as direct support for Maelstrom Vale at their EP release show for Disquiet
What was your latest gig? We opened for SECRETS and Picturesque
Have you had to cancel a gig? We haven't had to before and we don't plan on doing it unless we absolutely have to
Where have you played live this year? So far only Saskatoon, but we have some out of town dates coming in the summer!
Where do you plan to gig the comming year? Within our neighboring provinces
When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? We just started selling shirts at our most recent show, and we have more stuff in the works
Where can people buy your merchandise? Contact any of our social media accounts, or come out to a show
What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days?
T - as long as people are listening and enjoying it, they're supporting us
L - Same answer as Tristan, but personally I like buying physical copies
How do you think the music industry have changed because of this? A lot more bands have been discovered, but it's harder to make a living making music
What do you think of my work? We think it is highly professional, and we were pumped when you contacted us
How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? Being that this is our first formal interview, we are hoping to reach more people outside of Saskatchewan
Do you have any role models or idols?
T - Dallas Green, Avenged Sevenfold, Johnny Cash, and the list goes on
L - Sean Long, Murray Acton, Phil Bozeman, Dan Watson, and many more
Why do you think that they exist? To influence others 
Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? Both, but really it depends on the person
What have been your biggest obstacles? Losing our vocalist
What advice would you give other bands or artists? No matter what, keep grinding
How do you get psyched for a gig? We usually tend to watch hockey, listen to music, and have a beer or two
Do you have any new material? Oh yeah! We have a lot of things on the go that we are psyched to release and announce
