How often and where do you reherse? We jam at least once per week at Álvaro's Studio: La Chulona

Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that?

Yes, why not?

A booking agency would be a very positive value in order to be able to move around with the ends in mean, and that would be to entertain that great public willing to receive us.

It’s true that in order to reach further and beyond, it would be great if there were some booking agency working our booking now.

Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that?

The thought is tempting and of course.. Why not?

However, Swampig is a very independent band and so to say a “DO IT YOURSELF” (DIY), where all the band members are blissfully talented and capable of anything.

What made you decide to make this music? The initial idea was to capture the wild side of the immense energy of r’n'r mixed with the tight vocal arrangements lead by our singer, Moira Fee. However what we could never calculate or imagine, was the result of our unique sound.

What are your songs about? We talk about many diferent things such female power, having fun and a lot of commen sense, or not!

Who does the composing and writes the lyrics?

Generally, the main idea is born from one or another member and brought to the studio. From there on, the “Pigs” get to work and evolve the song to the the point where it because absolutly awesome!

The lyrics are generally created by Moira, Alvaro and Payom.

Do you start with the music or the lyrics? Usually we start with the music, but we are never closed to new experiences.

Do you compose in a certain inviroment? Not really. Everyone composes wherever and whenever they want and then we get it going together at the studio.

Have you done any covers live? Yes, we usually play covers of incredible bands such as “The Hellacopters”, “P!nk”, “Dallas Frasca” and “Grace Potter”.

What language do you sing in? In English

What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs? Between 80 and 150 attendants

What ages are most of your concert attendants? They range from 18 and beyond. The great thing is that there is an age limit for good music!

Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? Eventually with time we have been adding new songs to our gigs, and every gig has always had a especial extra!

What was your first gig like? Our first gig was last january here in Madrid, it was in a venue called Wurlitzer Ballroom, we played with The Benturas and it was amazing!!

What was your latest gig? Our last gig was 3 weeks ago, we played with a band called “Piece of Change” at the Fun House Music Bar and it was even better gig than the previous ones!! It absoultly ROCKED!!

Have you had to cancel a gig? Nope, and we hope not to do it ever!

Where have you played live this year? For the moment we only have played live three times and all the times in Madrid.

Where do you plan to gig the comming year? Our plan is to tour all around Spain, but hopefully someone puts Sweden in our agenda.

When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? We started a few months ago, we have T-shirts and signed postcards with digital dowloads codes of our three singles.

Where can people buy your merchandise? At our gigs, through our bandcamp page or through our facebook fan page.

What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? Well, for a band like us, we think it has a better chance of a positive outcome than anything else. For us, it is good that people all around the world can be able to have the ease and get the chance to listen to our music. Personally, if someone can’t afford to buy our records, I prefer him/her to be able to dowload our music and listen to us.

How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? Perhaps the people that read this interview will go to our Bandcamp, YouTube Channel or Spotify and listen to us. Hopefully someday we'll go on tour to Sweden! That would be really great!

Do you have any new material? Yes! Last week we've just finished the recording of our first LP. This great álbum was recorded where only a true Album can be recorded: “La Chulona” records.

What are your plans for the future? I guess 2018 and 2019 are gonna be super busy years for the band. First things first: We will release our first album, do a couple more "warm up" shows in our hometown, Madrid, to get in shape to tour the album starting September. So from that point to the end of 2019 you can expect a lot of more gigs, more video clips, the album of course, and I guess a whole lot of Swampigness!!

Do you have something to add? Just thank you for your interview and we hope someday you can see us live in Sweden!!
