Have any of you played in other bands? Jason Womack played bass for Juliette Lewis And The Lick's, Charles Ruggerio plays with many jazz bands as well.
How is it that you started playing music? Jason was over and we started jamming. He liked my vocal and we made a pact to do music full time. So far so good over the past 9 years.
What are your names? / Who plays what? / How old are you? ven lead vocals, jason womack guitar and backing vocals, charles ruggerio drums, nico darnese bass. I am 63, Jason is 45, Nico is 42 and Charles is 47.
Have you had other previous members? There have been many versions of Venrez from the beginning until now.
Where are you from? Los Angeles
What year did the band form? 2009
What's your style of genre? Epic Alternative Rock
How often and where do you reherse? Twice a week.
 
Do you have other interests of work outside the band? Ven produces feature films and raises money to clean the oceans of plastics.
Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? We are always looking for a booking agency who can get us good tours.
Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? We would welcome a label deal with a solid roster.
What are your songs about? All subjects from politics, lost love, science fiction and lessons learned and to teach.
Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? Ven writes the lyrics and Jason writes the music.
Do you start with the music or the lyrics? We do both.
Have you done any covers live? Can't Find My Way Home by Blind Faith which is off our second album Sell The Lie.

What ages are most of your concert attendants? 13 to 70
What was your first gig like? It was a train wreck although the fans loved it.
What was your latest gig? The Whiskey A Go Go with LA Guns.
Have you had to cancel a gig? Never
Where have you played live this year? LA, Las Vegas and Arizona.
Where do you plan to gig the comming year? USA for the rest of this year.
When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? When we started the band.

What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? The digital age changed everything. Most bands make money touring and merch sales as not many buy music anymore.
How do you think the music industry have changed because of this? Yes the digital age has destroyed record sales for most genres.
Do you have any role models or idols? Bob Dylan, Jim Morrison, John Lennon and Mick Jagger.
Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? Both
What advice would you give other bands or artists? Never give up.
How do you get psyched for a gig? It starts when the music begins.
Do you have any new material? We released our 5th album Element 115 on July 9th, 2018
