Where are you from? Country of origins – Costa Rica
What year did the band form? 2013.
What's your style of genre? power metal
What inspires you? What are your songs about? Everyday life, things we think we read, we see, we live through...
Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? Our main composer and lyricist is Anton Darusso with band´s participation and arrangement.
Do you compose in a certain inviroment? Nothing in particular, songs could be born in any circumstance.
Have you done any covers live? Yes, live & recorded... We have done our versions of Stratovarius classics and at the beginning of our carrer we have done a version of the single “I want out” of Helloween.Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? The band has already 5 albums under the belt we have to chose from that material, so we vary.
Do you have a regular place you play live often? no, there is no regular place. One of the best places to play live so far have been Mexico, fans are great there and they love the band. What was your first gig like? Our first gig was somwhere in 2013 and it was at a small venue that does not exist anymore in front of 200 people that went absolutely crazy and almost destroyed the place, it was crazy to see all the enthusiasm about the band at its early stages.,,,,
What was your latest gig? Our latest gig was sharing stage with Mike Vescera (Animetal USA, ex-Loudness, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen) and friends, doing some original and Malmsteen tunes. This was a local concert in Costa Rica, after we recorded a single “Under the Moon” together with Mike.
Where have you played live this year? Well, this year was supposed to be a big tour arround the new album, but we just had a chance to finish our Mexican tour and play a couple of local shows and then COVID affected everyone, so we are eagerly waiting for 2021.
When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? Where can people buy your merchandise? You can find all kind of merch with our labels and stores (CD´s, T-shirts, etc) , you can also make your requests directly on band´s Facebook official page: https://www.facebook.com/wingsofdestinyband
What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? How do you think the music industry have changed because of this? Well, its modern age and time, if you want to really support the band – buy their merch, CDs, etc. Its all about fans´support, so nothing more to really add to it, music industry doesn`t exist in its original form... it is all about people`s preference and interest in the ocean of information, data and tonns of releases....
What do you think of my work? It`s great, spread the word lml
How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? Well, if it can reach more people – it accomplished its objective. Its all about communication and contact. Why do you think that they exist? Out of people`s need to relate to something, to find any meaning in life.
Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? tough question, everyone should find their inspiration within theirselves and create own projects/bands/music.... But there are always a lot of inspiring artists, old ones and new ones...Maybe due to the fact of longevity it is easier to inspire yourself on old artists, for example guys like the Rolling Stones or Metallica.... but hey, there is a lot of modern bands that are really great and inspiring...What have been your biggest obstacles? the biggest obstacle in the music is not to lose yourself in the ocean of information and so many bands doing it... and to be noticed... That is somehow “luck” component and not only quality in your music.... To create music that really connects and relates to people... it is hard it`s not so easy as it seems....
What advice would you give other bands or artists? be yourself...
Do you have any new material? our new album is just released “Ballads”, search for it.
