interview with Osiris
Have any of you played in other bands? Yes. In the past, Scott played with Nereus, a German black metal project, as well as some Egyptian bands. Isfet, the founder of Osiris in 1996 has played with Verdict, a short lived Egyptian thrash/speed metal band, Lemon, an Egyptian Alternative Rock band and Stoned Sun, a Japanese Hard Rock band.
How is it that you started playing music? Isfet started music at a very young age and plays several orchestral instruments such as saxophone, clarinet, oboe and orchestral percussions.

Did you make music even when you were young? Yes
Where are you from? Japan and Egypt
What year did the band form? 1996
What's your style of genre? I don’t like genres. Its for marketing and it feels like a cage. Music is a bird and it needs to fly free. If you have to categories Osiris, then it would be something like Extreme Symphonic Metal.
What inspires you? A light within a darkness. Beauty within evil. Beautiful melodies. Pieces that make sense rather than abstract music.
How often and where do you rehearse? We don’t, we are an online project at the moment.
How have you developed since you started with the music? Becomes mature overtime. Not sure what you mean or from when to when.
Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? Yes we are looking for a label to distribute and possibly start performing.
What made you decide to make this music? Comes natural.
What are your songs about? Darks ide of human emotion in day to day life.

What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? It sucks but that’s life.
How do you think the music industry have changed because of this? Obviously there is more focus on performing and merchandise, as well as digital platforms.
Do you have any role models or idols? I admire some bands and musicians I don’t idolize anyone.
Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? Mostly bands originating in the 1990s
What have been your biggest obstacles? Finding the right members, government.
What advice would you give other bands or artists? Stop trying to copy others and doing covers. Make your own original music.
How do you get psyched for a gig? It does that by its self.
