What is the name of your band? Intense Hammer Rage
Name of the band-members? Chris, Ricey, A.B. and Martin.
Where did you grow up? We all grew up here in Tasmania, Australia.
How old are you? We’re all in our late 30’s, early 40’s (Yes we’re old!)
Who started the band? Ricey, A.B. and myself (Chris) started the band with our old vocalist (Spills) in 1994. Martin is our new vocalist who has been with us for almost a year now.
Where have you played 2012/2013? We’ve been playing a lot of shows both here in Tasmania and on the mainland of Australia (Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide)

What is the name of your best song? One of my favourites at the moment is one of our new songs “Does this rag smell like chloroform?”
Who plays what? Martin : Vocals, Chris : Bass and Vocals, Ricey : Guitar and vocals, A.B. : Drums and vocals.
What kind of music are you into? Personally I’m mostly into Death/Grind/Slam type stuff. If it’s heavy, fast and catchy I usually like it. I also like a bit of thrash and old school death metal. But as a band we like all different types of genres ranging from mellow stuff to brutal stuff.
Have you been on tour this summer? Our last tour was with Cock and Ball Torture from Germany when they came to Australia earlier this year.
Do you have a planned tour anytime soon? We’re playing at Obscene Extreme Australia this month with a heap of cool bands like Rotten Sound, Birdflesh, Captain Cleanoff, The Kill, Fuck I’m Dead, Odiusembowel, Festering Drippage, King Parrot, The Mung and a shitload more.
Who came up with the band name? The band name came from the title of a song on our first demo tape that came out in 1995. By memory it was our old vocalist who came up with it.
Who writes the songs? Ricey our guitarist writes the riffs and then we work on the song structure etc. together. A.B. writes the lyrics.
What song do you play the most? We try to play all our songs as much as we can, mainly so we don’t forget them!
Do you play the same songs each performance? We have a few songs that we usually play and we throw in some different ones each show depending on how long the set is.
Have you released an album or single? We’ve released 3 albums so far. We’re just about to go into the recording studio to record a new full length album that will be out later this year. It will be our first album in 13 years and it’s going to blow our previous recordings away!!!
Are you working on any new songs? Yeah we’ve got a couple of new songs in the works as well as an old song that we're working on that will be on the new album.
