What made you to be baptized to just "CLITEATER"? It sounded very cool and dirty haha
What made you start playing music? At age 10 I saw a VHS of the band Queen playing in Rock in Rio festival and after that I wanted to be a musician to
What made you start a band? At that time I played in a other band but was not satisfied with the music we made so I started a new project and that developed into Cliteater
What was the plan when you started the band? To be the most extreme band on the planet ;)
When did you start off band? 2001
Where have you played from 2002 to 2013? USA, Canada, England, Norway, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Czech republic, Slovakia, Poland, Austria, Switserland, Slovenia and probably some more I forgot…
Each was led first gig? 2003, Venray Holland
Where were off last gig? Summerbreeze open air Germany
Each was led most promising gig? Party San 2007 and Summerbreeze 2013 for sure!!
How many people usually come to your gig? From 10 till 12.000
Where do you plan to play the rest of the year? Shows in Holland, Germany, Belgium and Russia
What you drive for music style? It’s just an addiction
What made you start with just "Grinding deathrock"? It’s just a musical evolution we had trough 13 years of making this kind of stuff
What are your songs about? Religion, humour, horror, sex, murder, serial killers etc
Do you own songs or covers? 99% is own and we did some covers of S.O.D. , Pantera, Gut, Mortician
Who writes the songs? / Who does the music? Joost writes the lyrics and the rest makes the music
Who has the best humor? Our drummer Clemens, king of bad taste for sure!!
Good and bad sides of the band? Good things are having fun on the road, meeting new people and fans, traveling all over the globe, making just music with friends. Bad sides are cops on the road, bad food, non stop waiting, promoters who don’t pay, warm beer backstage etc
