What is the name of your band? The Glowflies
Name of the band-members? Seth Reich- guitar/ lead vocals, Jake Carrion- bass/vocals, Peter Meluso- drums/keyboard.
Where did you grow up? We are all from NYC and NJ.
How old are you? We are in our late 20’s early 30’s.
When did you start your band? We started in 2007 under the band name UrbanCarnival and switched our name and re-launched in 2009 as The Glowflies.

Who started the band? Jake and Pete were playing in bands together for seven years prior to meeting Seth. Jake and Pete were actively looking for a new member after leaving their previous band Sex Star Noir. Jake met
Seth sort of accidentally at a restaurant that they both worked at, that's when it all came together and the rest is history.
Where have you played 2012/2013? Starland Ballroom, Mercury Lounge,
Sullivan Hall and many other venues.

What is the name of your best song? That would be for the fans to decide. For our first album radio campaign the song “Eat the Snake” was chosen as our single and played on over 200 radio stations across the US.
What kind of music are you into? Seth tastes range from Jimi Hendrix to Phish to Classical to Modern Rock. Jake is into Rock, Metal, Funk, Disco, and Pop mostly. Peter is into Electronic music, Dance, Pop, Hip Hop,
Progressive Metal, Jazz and Fusion.
Have you been on tour this summer? No, we played a show at Sullivan Hall NYC last week but we have been spending our time finishing the mixing and mastering of our second full length album.
Do you have a planned tour anytime soon? A tour will follow the release of our second album. Sign up for our mailing list on our website and check our facebook for tour updates.
Who came up with the band name? We all sort of the brain stormed concepts but to be technical about it Seth proposed the name The Flies and Peter added the Glow in front of it. The main purpose of the name is to inspire
(set a glow) and uplift people and give hope, a common theme throughout our music. That is the main message behind the band, and we feel that the second album best communicates this.
Who writes the songs? We all write collectively.
What song do you play the most? As of late, we have been playing our second album material more often. From the first album we still play Monkeys, Sense Memory, and Eat the Snake the most frequently.
Do you play the same songs each performance? No, every performance is a
different set list.
Have you released an album or single? Yes, our debut album ""Birth of The Glowfly" was released in 2011. Our second album tentatively entitled “Blanked up World” is planned for a release date of Fall 2013.
Are you working on any new songs?Not currently, we stopped the writing process a while back and are just focusing on finishing the mixing/mastering and production of the second album.
