What is the name of your band? Drakwald

Where did you grow up? The 6 members live in Tours since a long time (a town at 200km from Paris). Some of them come from other towns, but they meet each other and live/work/study in Tours.
How old are you? The different members of Drakwald have between 20 and 25 years old (except our great drummer 30).
Who started the band? It all started a few years ago, I was playing in a band with Marc and after some other projects, I met David, so the three of us decided to start a new project which mixes the melody of traditional Folk with the power of Death Metal.
Where have you played 2012/2013? The band have played all over the West of France.
Where can people see you? They can meet us @ each show or in our town.
Do you have a web-site?
What is the name of your best song? It's quite difficult to answer that, but from my point of view the song which I enjoy playing the most is Let the Slaughter Begin, a new song which will be in our debut album.
What kind of music are you into? We are inspired by all the bands that we can hear. We all have our preferences, and I think this is the point which makes our music like we made it. Some of us like Eluveitie, Ensiferum, Amon Amarth, Wintersun and all the Folk Pagan Metal. Others will prefer Pantera, Immortal, Gojira, etc... We pick inspiration in what we like, no matter what style it's categorized, Metal or not Metal. We would like to create something quite unique.
Have you been on tour this summer? Drakwald will tour only in France this year.
Do you have a planed tour anytime soon? in the end of the year Drakwald will play a bit more in France in new towns
Who came up with the band name? Marc came with the band name, it's inspired by the Warhammer universe, it's a name which inspired us and we try to make stories around it.
Who writes the songs? The first version of the music is composed by David, Marc and me, the three other member of the band re-work their lines and add some details to the song. The lyrics are all written by me, inspired by the books I read, legends I heard, and some personnal events.
What song do you play the most? I think the song we play the most in live is Unleash the Hidden Beast, one of the song of our first Demo, Forgotten Lands, released in 2011.
Do you play the same songs each performance? We try as much as we can to not playing the same songs, in the same order at each gigs. We try to make each performance unique by the songs we play, by the order in which we play them, and by some tiny details we add.
Have you realesed a album or single? Drakwald has got a first EP : Forgotten Lands. Soon they will have an album (we record this summer)
Are you working on any new songs? 8/10 new songs will arrive in septembre!!
