What is the name of your band? XERXES THE DARK. Also you can simply call it XTD. Actually Xerxes The Dark is the one-man music project and not the Band !!!
What is alloy name "XERXES THE DARK" For? At first I’ve named my project as “Dead Air Space” in early 2005 . But I’ve changed the name to “XERXES” due to releasing the first album in November 2006. After a while in early 2010, The band’s name officially changed to the “XERXES THE DARK” to not be confused by the other bands.
What made you to be baptized to just "XERXES THE DARK"? “Xerxes” was the antient Iranian King of the kings of the Persia In Achaemenid Empire (519–465 BC). Xerxes means "ruling over heroes" and also known as “Xerxes The Great”. The Project’s Name “Xerxes The Dark” made by two parts: “Xerxes” & “The Dark”. I’ve choose Xerxes as the meaning of the Empire, Because it was the first Iranian Dark Ambient music project.
In the other hand, My music style was mailny Dark Ambient. So “The Dark” after Xerxes, is mentioned the musical theme of the project. And now you can read it : XERXES THE DARK which means “The Empire of The
Darks”.
What started you in music? Back in time and in my childhood, I remember that I’ve really interested in sounds everywhere! in Tv, Games, Enviroments, Tapes, Soundtracks, Industrial noises, and Nature. As I was 8-years boy, my sister bought me a mini-keyboard as a gift, so I found my passions in music more than ever!!! When I was 16, I bought my first and my favourite Instrument. An Electric Guitar with my own money !!! After a year , I’ve started to compose some songs and mixing up some patterns as my first experiencing in digital and electronical music world. And finally in 2006, when I was 18, I’ve released my first album which named “DIM” by Amduscias Records.
What made you form the band? I found that my desires are laying down into the music. And music was my only shelter in these years. I was a dreamer from the beginning of my life and I’ve realised that music can made my visions and imaginations too lucid and touchable. So after years of listening to the music, I’ve decided to compose and produce my own music.
Where are all remembers from? As I said before, This is an one-man music project and I am the only member of Xerxes The Dark. And I’m Iranian!!!
What places will you be playing in? In Iran we can’t play live in public places because of the county’s laws. So Unfortunatelly we have many promblems for publishing and playing our music in some genres like Electronic, Rock, Metal and … . Just Traditional music and Pop music have the chance to release inside
Iran and have a gig.
Who plays what? Morego Dimmer (Me): All Concepts/ Keyboards & Guitars/ Composing/Recording/ Mixing/ Mastering and Producing.
How old are you? 25.
What was the ambitions of the band when you started? The inner love, passions and my dreams. I’ve been looking for a way to emptying my struggles, feelings and everything which are floating in my mind. So I found that “music” is my way. That was my goal to be a great musician. So I have to work hard and harder to reach my aim.
Any albums or singles released? Yes, For sure. Even in XERXES THE DARK and my other music projects.
XERXES THE DARK is my main music project which started in 2005. Aslo I have some side projects, too. After XTD, “Nyctalllz” was my next music project which have founded in 2007 as the first Iranian Noise project.

in some personal gathering with friends.
What are the plans for the rest of the year? Nowadays I’m working on some down tempo/ psychedelic/ ambient songs for the next album. And also I should find some suitable record labels for the future releases.
What genre do you feel you are? The Mainly Genres for XTD, is the Dark Ambient and Experimental. With
the taste of Space, Psychedelic, Drone and Ambient.
Why did you pick that particular style? One reason was “the Purity of the Dark Ambient Music”. I’m an independence artist and experimental musician, so I don’t like to just follow some famous bands and imitate them verse to verse!!! I meant, I have too many ideas for my works, so I must use my own ideas not others. Creativity and Originality is the most important things for the experimental musicians. And I can do whatever I want in the Dark Ambient theme. Another reason was “the power of the Dark Ambient Music”.

Did you know that you can hear the ambient sounds naturally? Before sleep at night, you can close your eyes and after some deep breathes you may hear the cosmos’s frequencies as weird noises and harsh voises ! You can listen to the different voises of the nature that always flows everywhere and everytime. In deep silence your ears may hear some strange sounds like radio wave frequency. Due to today’s sience, these frequencies and voises may reffers to the BIG BANG phenomena which are spreading in the whole universe. In the other hand the scientists claim that in the deep silence, human’s inner ears would make some noises. You can experience this when you are alone in the studio’s deadroom, too. And All that you need is the silence both
outside and inside of your mind!!! I believe that this sounds are really similar to the Dark Ambient Music.

From 2010 till now: Space, Cosmos, Stars, Dark Matter, Black Holes, Quasars, Pulsars, Quantum Mechanics, Near Death Experience, Psychedelic Experiences, Science, Mystic, Metaphisycs, Peace, Love
Do you write your own material or mainly covers? Yes, I’m compose my own songs. Except Dark Ambient music, I’m composing some post-rock, down tempo, psychedelic and new wave stuffs.
Who writes your songs?/ who writes the music who writes lyrics? Everything in my projects are done by me ;), even cover albums !!!
What's good/bad with the band? Hmm, that’s my favourite quiestion… No good-nor bad things: In fact, Dark Ambient is not much popular, because ordinary peaple are looking for rythmic, or vocal- based music. And these people pay money for their suitable music. So naturally Dark Ambient have some special fans. These special people are interested in Instrumental and non- rythmic music. Cause they understand it with their powerful
imagination. I do respect for both kinds of ordinary and special people. But I like the special guys … The good things: I’ve forced to learn everything in the musical world! From sampling, sound making, composing, recording, mixing, mastering and producing to cover desining and even web page designing. That was too hard for me to learn these things both academic and manually and take many hours in my life so that made some problems in my collage and university courses and my personal life . but I still thinking that they have worth to me! The Bad Things: Very very low income (inside Iran), lack of Instuments, lack of equipments, lack of people’s interest (generally in dark ambient music), lack of family and social attention, lack of sponsors. I can’t release my stuffs inside my country, I can’t play live here in public and so on… Most of the foreign labels have a bad opinion on Iran and Iranian musicians and they are very pessimism about Iranian bands. These bad things are common in the most Iranian bands in Electronic Rock and Metal genres and their sub genres.
