interview with Ablaze My Sorrow
What´s the name of your band? Ablaze My Sorrow
What made you call the band? It was our first drummer Fredrik that came up with the name. The name is supposed to be translated as "Make me mourn".
How was the band formed? We live in a small town and everyone who was into death metal at that time knew each others either from gigs or as members in bands. One of all those bands started at a party I guess, this one survived though.
Where are all band members from?/Who does what in the band? We are all from Falkenberg(Sweden). Kristian Lönnsjö (vocals), Magnus Carlsson (guitars), Dennie Lindén (guitars), Anders Brorsson (bass) and Alex Kribensten (drums). This means that we are still the same guys as on the "Anger hate & fury" album.
Where was your first gig? I can't really remember but I guess that it was at some local show in Falkenberg.
Who writes your songs?/Who writes the music who writes lyrics? The music is written by magnus and Dennie. Everyone but Alex wrote lyrics for "Anger hate & fury" and that's still how it's done.
Why did you pick that particular style?/What are your songs about? We play the style of music that we listen to. It's a mixture between death metal, black metal and thrash metal with big influences from bands such as At The Gates, Slayer, Dissection and Kreator. Our lyrics deal with subjects such as religion, suicide, alcohol och misery.
Have you made any albums?/If yes what are they? We have released three albums through No Fashion Records. "If emotions still burn(1996)", "The Plague(1998)" and "Anger hate & fury(2002)".
How old are you?/What got you started in music? I am 37 years old. I went to shows and wanted to start my own band, record demos and print shirts. Just like it is now over 20 years later.
At what age did you start playing? I started my first band Cremation in 1991 som I must have been 14 years old.
What year was the band started? Ablaze My Sorrow was formed in 1993.
Is it always the same songs live? Some songs are always on the playlist but we use to change a couple of them.
What are the plans for the rest of the year? We will enter the studio to record a new album which hopefully will be released in 2015.
What are your goals with your music? To record and release the new album is our next goal.
How do you feel about the downloading of music instead of buying albums? I can't see that I have problems with downloading music.
Besides your own music, what genres and bands do you listen to? Black, death, thrash, speed, ska. Oi!, punk, grindcore et.c.
What do you hold most dear? Family and friends.
Have you been part of any other projects? I've been playing in some other bands too but at the moment I only play in Deathsküll besides Ablaze My Sorrow. Deathsküll plays white trash thrash metal.
What would you do if there was no music? I'd still be fishing, hunting and training.
How often do you rehearse? About once a week but we'll rehearse more now when it's time to enter the studio.
Name 2 of your own songs you like at the moment? "Machine supreme" and "Rapist of life" since it's pointless to name the new and unreleased ones.

What is your favorite crappy instrument? Harmonica.
