interview with Chasing The Rise
Have any of you played in other bands? Yes, Chasing The rise’s singer Vytis was playing in bands like Brosided and Spengimas in Vilnius Lithuania, Bassist was also involved in some punk/hardcore/metal projects.
How is it that you started playing music? We met each other on the internet forum, one day we all came for a rehearsal and then started to play, it’s just that simple

Have you had other previous members?There were couple changes in our band, but the main core resisted. In 2014 drummer Laisvis (drummer) left the band and also we had to find a replacement for our bassist Edd.
Did you make music even when you were young? Well not really, we all started to play music when we were 15-17 years old.
Where are you from? Vilnius, Lithuania, EU
What year did the band form? 2012
What's your style of genre? I would describe it Melodic death hardcore or just Metalcore
What inspires you? All the people that listen to our music and supports us on stage
How often and where do you reherse? We have a studio where we gather for rehearsals 2 times in a week
How have you developed since you started with the music? New album will show how we developed
Do you have other interests of work outside the band? All of Chasing The Rise’s members have jobs cause it’s impossible to live from metal/hardcore music in our country
Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? Yes we’re always looking for new booking agencies to work with
Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? We’re interested in working only with a big labels.
What made you decide to make this music? Our music brings us joy and satisfaction because it’s melodic intense and really fun to play
What are your songs about? Our purposes, dreams and life’s challenges
Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? Mostly by the Lead singer Vytis and guitarist Edgaras
Do you start with the music or the lyrics? We start with the music first
Do you compose in a certain inviroment? At homemostly
Have you done any covers live? Yes only once
What language do you sing in? English, but we have one song “AtmerkAkis” in our native language
What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs? I really don’t remember, but I think once there were 15 people in our concert and for the most I think there were something around 300
What ages are most of your concert attendants? From 18 to 35 years
Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? We change our song lists time after time for variety
Do you have a regular place you play live often? Not really, we try to play in different places
What was your first gig like? It was in our native city Vilnius, a lot of people came and it was a blast, I will always remember that evening
What was your latest gig? It’s been a while since we last played, it was in 2014 summer“Karkle festival” – the biggest fest in Lithuania.
Have you had to cancel a gig? Yes, just once.
Where have you played live this year? We haven’t played this year yet.
Where do you plan to gig the coming year? It depends on how fast we’ll release new album, after that we’ll see.
When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? We started to sell stuff a year ago, we have t-shirts, long sleeves, tank tops.

What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? I think it’s normal
How do you think the music industry have changed because of this? Well, music industry have changed because labels and bands don’t earn that much now, there are many good things and bad things about that, I think most of nowadays bands became famous just because of the internet,now it’s easier to get big by yourself because of an internet
What do you think of my work? I can say only good words about your job it’s nice that you’re spreading a word about bands, your job should be interesting, keep it going
How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? I really don’t know, but I believe that every interview pushes us forward
What have been your biggest obstacles? We hire drummers becauseour biggest obstacle that we can’t find a good drummer in our country that would be bale to play our genre permanently
Do you have any new material? Our new EP will be out after few months, stay tuned
