Alican Tekeş (24): Bass

Aberrant (29): Drums

Have you had other previous members? Malik used to play the bass but he's been replaced since he moved to Denmark

Did you make music even when you were young? As for myself I've been trying to play since mid-teens but my first actual band came to reality when I was 21 years old.

Where are you from? We're all from Kadıköy, Istanbul, except Ewan, who's from London.

What year did the band form? We have formed in 2012.

What's your style of genre? We play skullfucking Death Metal.

How often and where do you reherse? We rehearse in a couple of professional studios and the frequency depends on our schedule. We have rehearsed like fuck to finish our recent EP, but we haven't done anything since the recordings are finished. People are concentrating on their other bands at the moment.

How have you developed since you started with the music? I can say that the band was already consisting of skillful musicians in the beginning so not a big deal of improvement has taken place. My growls got deeper over the time, that's what I can tell about myself though.

Do you have other interests of work outside the band? We all have boring white collar jobs in order to survive. Alican is a student who works at part time jobs.

Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? We're looking for a label at the moment. Don't care about the agencies anyway.

What made you decide to make this music? Our appetite for creating evil and mindfucking music we can listen to.

What are your songs about? Our songs are about, Satan, darkness, hell, torments and various other deviancies.

Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? Mustafa is responsible for the main composing and I handle the lyrics.

Do you start with the music or the lyrics? We start with the music first.

Do you compose in a certain inviroment? Mostly at home.

What language do you sing in? We sing in English. That doesn't mean we'll strictly stick to that though.

What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs? We've played live once so far, there were about 150 people.

What ages are most of your concert attendants?  Uhmm, it differs from teens to 35+ people.

What was your first gig like? It was fucking maniacal, there was an insane moshpit and the audience was pretty good at channeling their madness to match ours.

What was your latest gig? It was the only gig we've played so far, on April 20th, 2014.

Have you had to cancel a gig? Nope.

Where have you played live this year? We haven't played live this year, our main concern was finishing the new ep.

Where do you plan to gig the comming year? Of course we do. You know any worthy fest in Sweden? Might be cool to come over there.

When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale?  Where can people buy your merchandise? We have to find a label first to talk about these matters.

What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? It has both pros and cons of course. Internet provides a cheap and easy way to discover new bands of course, but people who solely leech on mp3s are annoying. Anyone into underground metal has to buy real stuff as much as they can afford, be it one cd a month or ten LP's, depending on their financial situations.

How do you think the music industry have changed because of this? As for metal, many bands from obscure countries have had the chance to make themselves visible for bigger amounts of people, that's a good thing. As for the mainstream bullshit, I hope it makes things worse for shitty mainstream labels with their fancy bands on their back catalogue. Underground remains where it is, and that's what really matters to me.

What do you think of my work? It's nice, presenting bands in an easy accessable way. You questions got a lot better since last time, too! Good work, keep it up!

How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? See my answer about Sweden.

Do you have any role models or idols? Hard to tell really. There are many bands/people we get inspired by, but hardly anyone to call a real “idol”.

Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? It really depends on each band individually, I can get inspired both by old legends like Possessed, Blasphemy, oldMayheM, Sodom or newer bands like Necrowretch, Maveth or Skelethal.

What have been your biggest obstacles? We don't have our own private rehearsal place and rehearsing/recording at other places is quite expensive.

What advice would you give other bands or artists? Well, I would advice anyone to be themselves, to stand on their own feet, not to kiss anyone's ass to achieve anything.

How do you get psyched for a gig? With lots of booze and shit haha.

Do you have any new material? Keep checking out our faceshit page, the newer details of our upcoming EP, “Apokalypse” will be revealed soon.

What are your web sites? We only have a fb-site for now.

How can people reach you? Via our facebook page or [email protected]

What are your plans for the future? Finding a proper label for our new EP and play some gigs across Europe.

Do you have something to add? Thanks for your support! Kadıköy madness shall continue!
