interview with Perverted Dexterity
Have any of you played in other bands? Yeah, I'm playing in 3 bands and 2 other projects. But, I only doing live performance with Perverted Dexterity and Omnivorous.
How is it that you started playing music? I started playing music in 2003. When my father gave me my first guitar and I decided to playing some old school music then writing my own music.
What are your names? / Who plays what? / How old are you? My name is Januaryo Hardy. I'm playing guitar and vocals on stage.
Have you had other previous members? I've never had any bandmates in Perverted Dexterity. Coz, I started it by myself and will be like this forever.
Did you make music even when you were young? Yeah, I started making my own music since when I was 11.
What year did the band form? I formed Perverted Dexterity in 2010 after my old band splited up.
What's your style of genre? I'm playing nasty Brutal Death Metal.
What inspires you? Some old school brutal bands from 90s and Shawn Whitaker (Insidious Decrepancy, Viral Load) for the one-man inspiration.
How often and where do you reherse? I rehearse in my own room, coz I've never go out for rehearse in other studio.
How have you developed since you started with the music? I don't really know. Maybe yes, because I'm listening to other music outside Brutal Death Metal. Such as Black Metal and Classic music. But, I've never change the style or did a big experiment to my music. I'm listening other music only for balance my mind and form new methods of creating music.
Do you have other interests of work outside the band? Yeah, I'm working in a small office here. But, it's not my interest. Doing it to earn enough money for my band and my musical development.
Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? I've never think about it. But, everyone can contact me directly via Facebook and email.
Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? I did both by myself.
Do you start with the music or the lyrics? I always start with the music, then the vocal patterns along with lyrics.
Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? I always choose random songs and rearrange the set every different stages.
Do you have a regular place you play live often? Not for now. I always play outside the province even overseas, and will always working for that. Coz, I don't like to doing shows near home or in a regular place.
What was your first gig like? My first gig is in a small bar with 4 people stand and banging in front of me, back in the 2010.
What was your latest gig? In Manila, Philippines with hundreds people moshing and banging like a crazy chaos pedestrian. Hahaha.
Have you had to cancel a gig? Yes, 2 times. Because of transportation and work schedule.
Where have you played live this year? I will start the tour from March 20. I got 7 schedule so far and will be increasing until December. I'm working for it.

What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records now a days? I will never support illegal downloading. If people download it legally, it's ok but please buy a physical releases.

What have been your biggest obstacles? My biggest obstacles is my own lazyness. Hahaha seriously.
How do you get psyched for a gig? Never. I hope will never get it.
