Hi! Robex, thank you very much for the interview, late replying, I had a lot of work and that's why I could not answer fast, I hope it's not late yet, my apologies. I think I understood all your questions. It has been a pleasure to meet people from other latitudes and I hope you understand the vision from a Latin American country. I add a little biography so that you know us a little.
If you post the interview, do not forget to let me know, please
Greetings from Mexico and the other members of Gilgamesh !!
Hi! We are GILGAMESH women band formed in 1992 in Mexico City. In 1995 we released our first and only demo, "Demo 1 '95", although we had many songs, at that moment we only recorded 4 tracks "Plegaria", "El Exilio", "Narcolepsy", "Ruptura", And alternating with many bands and playing in many parts of the country, unfortunately for playing and playing, we forgot to record more songs that we had. For the 2000 we stopped, we have resumed the band by intermittent times, for now we are active.

Personal questions about the band and their members:
Have you played in any band before? Only Luisa the guitar played in the band Oxidised Razor, this band is of gring metal. Currently we do not play in another band. We have all touched on other projects that never materialized.
How are you going to get started in the music field? In the teenage years we went to the shows of metal bands in Mexico and big bands from other countries, we feel the power and strength of these bands and we think why we do not play and give this energy and our spirit? We need to make metal, and although we had the ideal of making music, until 1989 we met Luisa with whom we could perform Gilgamesh, fortunately we agreed on tastes and ideals, which gave us a great union and inspiration.
What's your name? My name is Alejandra Mavir
What do you interpret to what?  I play drums in the band
How old are you? We are in the age of 40's.
Have you had previous members? We have always been the same members.
Did you do music already when you were small? No, we learned in adolescence, not so small, although it would have been great to learn from a young age.
Where are you from? We are from Mexico
What year was started the band? In 1992.
What do you play music style? Doom death metal
What inspires you? Our inspiration is based on decadence, perversion, human hypocrisy, depression, loneliness, marginalization, discrimination, freedom and stories of enigmatic characters, based on personal experiences, observation and reading.
Each repaired you? Yes, that is our alternative, we rehearse each one and when we get together, we get everything prepared in advance. Apart from constant individual practice.
How do you use earplugs when you show up? I hardly use them when I play, sometimes in the shows there are no good equipment conditions and it is difficult to listen well, because I myself cover the sound of other instruments with the drumms. In the tests I almost always use them, although I know that I should always use them.
How have you envolved since you started whit music? Positively, now we have less stage fright, we enjoy playing more, the tension we feel is less, therefore we flow more, we have never doubted what we do but now we reaffirm it, also influences that when we started to play the atmosphere was a 99 % Of men, they felt a lot of expectation of seeing a band of women, and sometimes a little rejection of one that another macho men, at the moment there are many more bands of women and the public is more open. We also understand the structure of music more easily, which allows us to compose more easily
Do you have any other interests or jobs out of the band and music? Yes, Luisa is a librarian, Adriana graphic designer, Alejandra graphic designer, in Mexico it is almost impossible to live underground metal, you have to have another alternative activity to earn income, so you have to divide your time to be able to have a band, Of luxury that could be lived of the metal in Mexico.
Are you looking for the booking company, what are your thoughts and requirements around it then? For now we are not looking for company, it is rare that this is used here in Mexico, not underground metal music, because there is no lucrative market, companies want to sell and produce music that is repetitive and easy to retention, music nothing complicated, to Sell a lot, that's what companies are looking for.
Are you looking for record labels, what are your thoughts and requirements around it then? Not now, since soon we will reissue our demo and we will also include other songs that we never recorded and will be released under the label "DARK RECOLLECTIONS" from Mexico. Although yes there are viable offers agreements can be reached, all we ask for is honesty and clarity.
How will that you do music? First we choose a concept, a theme and those that inspire us that theme and equal some basis whether it be guitar, bass or drums, from there we are drawing various ideas.
What are your songs about the whole? Narcolepsy, Prayer, Happy World, Duhma, Fragile Life, Exile, Rupture, those would be the main ones.
Who writes the lyrics? The lyrics make Luisa Bocanegra the guitarist.
Who does the music? The music is made between the three members.
When you do a song, you start with the music or the lyrics? We usually start with music.
In which environment do you usually do your songs? At our rehearsal site, my house is usually a place where we can concentrate, relax and take our time.
Do you play only original songs live and also covers? Yes we played only Gilgamesh songs, although for fun we have taken covers but we never played them live since we hardly rehearsed them.
What language are you singing about? We sing in Spanish, our language, but it does not look like, haha!
Questions regarding your gigs and performances like:
How many have come at least to your concerts? At least 40 people have arrived.
How many have come most of your concerts? Maybe about 100 people.
How have you done or intend to do it to get more audience at your gigs? For in old times were used the flyers, which were distributed from hand to hand, and in the mail, posters, and voice in voice, now the social networks help to give diffusion to invite the shows, and is used little flyers . Something is also not to disappoint the people who support you by attending to see you. We also like that people like the old fashioned look for the bands explore, find, maybe we are not a band that is given much publicity through the techniques of marketing, although we may use it at some point
Which age group drawn mostly to your concerts? In general they are people of our generation, people already mature, although we see that many young people are very curious to see us.
Do you play always the same songs live or vary it? Lately yes, although we do not play much, as I mention is complicated to match our times by the distances and obligations that has given us life, we have more balls but are not ready to play them.
Where have you been playing this year? Well this year begins and we have not played yet, last year we played here in Mexico City, Querétaro, Guanajuato.
Where do you have plans to play the rest of the year? There is still no plan, to see that it leaves and if we can also adjust our time.
Which countries have you played in? Only  in México
Questions regarding your merchandise:
When did you sell merchandise? The merchandise was sold by mail, courier, in the plays when we play, in a market specialized in rock, famous and important in Mexico called Tianguis Cultural del Chopo.
What are your merchandise gadgets? We promote through social networks, in the Chopo, played and equal flyers that are distributed in plays.
Where can I buy your Merchanndise? When you leave you will be able to purchase through Dark Recollection, and Gilgamesh on facebook, or with the members.
Questions about your views:
What do you think about downloading more music than buying CDs nowadays? I disagree. It is a very quick way to get the music, but it does not compare to having a physical material with lyrics, covers, photos and information about the band and a material left for posterity, that is its value. The downloads can help to spread the music, although you do not have to stay with the pure download, if you really want to support a band acquires its physical material in any format that you like.
How to think and do you think the music industry has changed since they started downloading music? It has become almost disposable, because of the ease with which you get the music for downloads, you can erase and re-download music and you never heard of lyrics, biographies, photos, covers, etc. of the band that you downloaded for not acquiring a product Physical, whether cassette, vinyl, or cd. If you really are passionate about music you can not settle for a download.
If you prefer downloaded music, cassette, CD or Vinyl? We always prefer vinyl and cassette formats that are as collectible at least here in Mexico but for the same reason they are more expensive and most are imported, we adapt to the format that is within our economic reach and the facility to achieve it in general Is the CD, because to obtain music by download we only use it to know how a material is and then acquire it in cd, vinyl, or cassette format. Or in case there is no more than in that medium because of its antiquity or rarity.
What would you do if the music is not the fans? Well I do not know well, I like art, cinema, food, travel, know other cultures, sport. I think I'm a marine biologist and I'd walk in the sea.
What about the guards' job at your gigs and stuff? Well now there is not much conflict, they learned to respect those who attend the concerts, and the public knows how to behave. In times past in the 70's and early 90's there was a lot of repression towards any genre of rock, rock was repressed and its fans also, there were always threats that police would come in their trucks to take them to the Assistants and then were stopped rockers to make them review and abuse their power by threatening to take them to the corralón or blame them to bring drugs, and sometimes just to bring long hair or extravagant dress (just to get money from rockers) Now rock is not so Badly seen by society, is almost a fashion, so it is not so threatening, but there are still concerts where there are solvents and other drugs that are in more marginal neighborhoods where suddenly if the police appear, although they can not get them Money to the attendants because they do not have, the police only check that they do not do excesses.
Those attending light and sound how much they have helped you really if you think about? Yes they help when there are, especially have a good sound equipment, a good engineer, apart from making more use of the sound because you feel more confident and inspired to play very well. The light is a plus, although if it is important that the lights do not affect the musicians' vision, and do not make you sweat a lot, that atmosphere to be comfortable and that visually look better the band.
What do you think of my work? Some questions are very interesting, questions that very few come to mind and serve to give a context of how we live in other latitudes underground music, although I would like to know more about your work.
How believe and know that this interview will help you in Brazilian music? We would love to be known in Brazil, I think they know us but very little, because we are from another generation and because we have not been active lately, I think if you can help your interview especially because I see broadcast to the bands and I thank you Support and interest.
What are your role models or idols? As much as idols I think not, although I admire above all the characters that change the world that risk for the world is better, many social fighters of Mexico. And people in other countries, like Malala, Martin Luther King, etc. As for music, we like a great variety of bands from the classic, Black Sabbath, Mercyful Fate, Motorhead, Slayer, Fear Factory, My dying bride, Dissection, Entombed, Autopsy, Achrostichon, Necros Christos, and many more bands Both Mexican and foreign.
What do you think they are age limits on some concerts? If the environment is healthy I think that since they are small they can attend, that is to say that the place is not tight, that there is no smoke of cigars, that there are no drugs, as long as they do not bore the music and the volume does not affect their ears.
Why do you think they are? To avoid being exposed and badly influenced both children and very young people, which is sometimes consumed in concerts, alcohol, drugs and other factors that can be exposed in the coexistence of larger people.
Is it easier to draw inspiration from older bands than bands that are active today? For the time when we started to listen to metal and rock, if we are very influenced by the old bands, although new bands appear that may influence us, we are not closed to that, although our ear is already used to old school.
What has been conditioned biggest obstacles in the music industry? We are in Mexico a country much less developed than yours, with many less resources and many people. Here there is not much support for music, neither from private institutions, nor from the government, and sometimes from the family, it is difficult to have support, many bands here have no place to rehearse, adequate instruments and money to rent a place of rehearsals Or pay a good study, etc. I can say that there is no metal music industry. Yes there is industry in light rock in Spanish, because that sells a lot and is very digestible for the masses. The biggest obstacle is the economic resource and the lack of support for culture.
What advice would you give to other bands and artists? Know your scene, support it, do not stop being fans even if they are musicians and you have to endure despite the adversities that you do for pleasure, practice a lot, do not copy other bands, be authentic.
News and updates:
Do you have new material in grams? We will reissue the 1995 demo and we will include 3 more songs and an intro from different eras that we have never taken out as a record material, and will be included in this material.
What is your website? Oouuhh we do not have a website, maybe we should consider making one.
How can I get you? The material can be obtained when you leave this year with "Dark Recollections Productions" and Gilgamesh on facebook, Mexico.
What are your plans for the future? Keep playing and making rolls until we can. And wait to have ready the reissue of the demo and see what other material can be taken out.
Thank you very much Robex Lundgren for the interview and support Gilgamesh, I hope we can hear, old school death metal, I hope your work helps our diffusion especially for your lands.
Stay heavy forever !!!
Alejandra Mavir M.
