Luis Galvis: voice and guitar 41 years

David Márquez: drums 40 years

Camilo Gómez: bass 26 years

Have you had other previous members? Yes, many guys have played in this band

Did you make music even when you were young? Yes, when I was 18

Where are you from? We are from Colombia

What year did the band form? 2002

What's your style of genre? Death metal

What inspires you? Different things; Social difficulties, love, obsolete thoughts, and the studies of psychoanalysis of myth.

How often and where do you rehearse? We rehearse every week in a place where you pay for hours.

How have you developed since you started with the music? A lot, we have increased the way we play, the way we compose our music, our lyrics, our performance on stage, etc.

Do you have other interests of work outside the band? I am an English teacher in a primary school, and it is very interesting because you learn a lot with children, you know that you are helping your society, and trying to change consciences. Our guitar players is studying geography, and the drummer and the bassist are musicians by profession

Are you looking for a booking agency, and what are your thoughts around that? Yes, in our country metal music is not well supported, or sponsored. We don´t have the media to produce our band in a high scale.

Are you looking for a label, and what are your thoughts around that? Yes, we need some help to be able to release our second production. We already recorded the 10 songs, we did a master, but we haven´t been able to release the album because the lack of money to press it.

What made you decide to make this music? The power that I feel when I play those songs, the way I think I liberate myself when I play my guitar, and I what I express doing music.

What are your songs about? The first album was mainly about social critics, the manipulation of media, the way religions and obsolete credence have enslaved human mind. Our second album is a long story about a hero who wants to liberate himself as many have done before in different stories told in other cultures (the hero myth)

Who does the composing and writes the lyrics? Luis Galvis composed everything

Do you start with the music or the lyrics? I always start with music, for me it is quite difficult to write a lyric without the music

Do you compose in a certain environment? Not in a special one, but I prefer solitude, evenings or nights, and my guitar.

Have you done any covers live? Yes, once we played a The Haunted song, and in other concert we played a Carcass song

What language do you sing in? English

What are the least and most people to attend one of your gigs?

Least: Like 40 people

Most: Like 2000 people

What ages are most of your concert attendants? Between 18 and 30

Do you always play the same songs live, or do you vary? No, we have composed 18 songs until today, so we can vary the repertoire.

Do you have a regular place you play live often? In this city the places are almost the same; Universidad Del Valle, some bars, auditoriums, theatres, etc

What was your first gig like? It was good, it was in November 2002 in a small bar, it was crowded and people was amazed with our style.

What was your latest gig? At Univalle metal fest December 7th 2018

Have you had to cancel a gig? Yes, two times. Once because the drummer we had in that year (2014) couldn´t travel abroad (Ecuador), the other because our new drummer had appendicitis.

Where have you played live this year? At Palmira two times, In Cali three times, Sevilla, and Tulua two times (small towns in this country)

Where do you plan to gig the comming year? We are planning a tour in South America (Ecuador, Brasil, Perú, Argentina, and Chile)

When did you start to sell merchandise, and what do you have for sale? We started selling merchandise when we recorded our first cd. We have cds, t shirts, and some caps.

Where can people buy your merchandise? Only in Cali, we don´t have by internet

What do you think about people downloading music instead of buying records nowadays? I think is something we cannot stop, it´s what we have today and people have the right to do it. Of course I would like to have the possibilities to sell a lot of music, but I always enjoy that people listen to my music even if they haven´t paid anything for it.

How do you think the music industry have changed because of this? Musicians have to effort more, doing better songs, better tours and gigs to attract audiences around the world, and artists have to do better cover art albums to convince people to buy the cd instead of only downloading from internet.

What do you think of my work? I think is great and necessary having people that interview bands, artists, painters, etc, because without you our work would be forgotten and ignored.

How do you think and know that this interview will help you in the music business? Because you can spread all around my band´s name, our thoughts, our music, and if you have somebody who can helps us to go and play there, we would do it without thinking.

Do you have any role models or idols? I am a great fan of Michael Akerfeldt from Opeth, Steven Wilson, Jeff Walker, and Bill Steer from Carcass, Robert Smith from The Cure, David Guilmour and Roger Waters from Pink Floyd.

Why do you think that they exist? Because we project ourselves in their successful careers

Is it easier to find inspiration from older bands, or bands that are more active today? For me, bands that are active today, because they are expressing what I feel today, besides this, they manage the tendencies we are having in music nowadays.

What have been your biggest obstacles? I think living in a country in which arts are not an important matter for no one. Here people prefer other activities, other kind of music, politicians get the people resources to different things, and there is a lot of corruption, drugs, poverty, etc. There are many obstacles

What advice would you give other bands or artists? My advice is always the same; continue playing no matter anything, no matter if your band mates leave you alone, don´t collaborate, or don´t make the same efforts as you do. We have to continue despite of the obstacles.

How do you get psyched for a gig? I always focus that everything is going to be ok. That we are going to play great songs and people are going to enjoy our music. I also listen to music I like before all the gigs.

Do you have any new material? Yes, as I mentioned before, we are planning to release a new album
